I hope you are doing great today. I am posting here on behalf of Philly's Battle of Canvas 2011 on August 27th (it's our 2nd year!!!). It will be hosted by the Piazza, with an expected turnout of 4000 people over a period of 10hrs. This event has been featured in publications like Grid, 215, and is sponsored by Blick Art Supplies and The Artist's Piazza. I hope that you will be interested in featuring us on your blogs too!

Philly's Own Battle of the Canvas 2011 is coming on August 27th!
The Battle of the Canvas ® is a live painting competition that encourages the involvement of emerging and professional visual artists to paint under a theme that will promote social change through artistic images. In addition to fusing diverse artists with different skill levels together, encouraging the appreciation of visual arts outside of galleries and museums is our goal since this free event will allow the public to connect with and interact with artists as they paint. We provide a different dimension to the painter-patron relationship by allowing potential patrons to see the full artistic process and watch a blank canvas transform into a work of art. We highlight multiple forms of creative expression by inviting various diverse bands, musicians, DJs and dancers from the Philadelphia community to perform. The Battle of the Canvas® is an all inclusive arts event that showcases the power of visual and performing arts while implementing social change.
