Hi all,
I learned recently of a rental space available in the Horsefeather Building (Winter Market) at 346 Connecticut Street. A woman I know investigated and learned that they would be open to leasing to an artist's cooperative - where a group of artists could sell their work with everyone chipping in rent and time to run shop.
I'd be interested in participating but know that with my mortgage-paying job, I can't be the leader. But, I think it could be really cool and would be up for chipping in money and time if we had enough people.
There is a pop-up event there this Wednesday, the 8th from 5-9:00. I'm going to go to check out the space. Feel free to join!

I am definitely interested if we could get enough people on board so it wasn't to expensive. How much are they asking and for how much space? I have no experience with leasing spaces so I couldn't even guess an estimate, is it in the ball park of like $2,000

Yes, this is the building!

The space is good size - not sure of the square footage. It isn't so big as to be overwhelming but not so small as to feel crowded. The interior is warm-colored painted brick. It's really a very nice space. (If you go there, right now it's set up as an advertisement-space for Ró.) And, the bathrooms are right next door!

What I've heard is that they are asking for $700/month not including utilities. I think you have to pay for electricity.

The space is on the same floor as the Nickel City Cheese Shop, Lait Cru Brasserie, a hair salon, and soon - Buffalo Cake Pop (in place of the juice bar). The Winter Market is held in the basement Nov-May and there are all the apartments above.

If the artisan co-op model works for people, I think we'd want a minimum of 7 committed people to share rent and time spent manning the shop. And, I would think, to start, we'd want to plan the hours to be open while the other businesses are open.

It's something to think about. I think it's doable IF we had a committed group.

Hi all -

What do people think about the new 'attributes' feature?

I like the color options but wondering about holiday and occasion. Would adding an occasion (for something that doesn't HAVE to be for a specific occasion) be too limiting?

Just when I thought I was going to shut down my shop, I've been doing well again. I really can't explain it either. Maybe people have their tax refund to spend? Etsy has a way of pulling you back in lol

When something like this is introduced I usually change a few things and see if it make a difference one way or another as far as views.

I think I will wait a bit before I do any editing with this feature.

Completely random, but I have 2 matching desks for sale that I'm curious if anyone wants as workspace! I used one of them as my 'studio' for a few years :) Hoping to sell ASAP.

They're both 5 foot long, 24" deep "Dawson Realspace" desks in Maple finish. 5 years old and in great condition - only a couple minor scratches down by the inside of the computer storage spot.
Very sturdy. Asking $100ea/obo. Current retail is $199ea.
