Unexpected side effects of craft addictions

Before Christmas I developed a random unexpected craft addiction and I have noticed that it has had a number of side effects on me including:
1. Eating less because I'm so preocupied that I no longer snack or feel hunger as much.
2. Yabber on and on about my work to my friends and family.
3. Go to bed planning my next project.
4. Prevented me from worrying about anything as mind so full of what I'm making.
5. Made me a much easier if more preoccupied person to live with as things that used to drive me mad no longer matter.
6. Made me a generally happier person as making things makes me happy and gives my life more purpose.

I would like to here about the effects of your craft addictions and what it has meant to your lives. I thought it would be nice to share such experiences.

Re: Unexpected side effects of craft addictions

I can identify with the eating less. Sometimes I'm so preoccupid with making stuff, photography, editing, listing etc that I find I've worked right through meal times and then just grab something as I continue working.

I notice more when out and about. Ideas for new designs jump out at me, colour combinations, textures, that sort of thing. So I'm definitely developing more of a creative eye for design.

Less positive things re:

I get more back ache hunched at my table

I seem to live online

My poor dog pines for some attention

I know what you mean about back ache and neglecting others. But I seem to just not notice it much.

I wish I didn't notice the back ache.... and other aches. I have RA so I'm pretty much in pain all the time.
