A few of you will already be aware of this but a new shop has opened in Kingly Court, Carnaby St London & will be stocked with pieces from British designer makers.

It works by you 'renting' shelf space - 5 different levels/prices - & you control the prices & merchandising etc in your space.

I for one have signed up & have double checked with staff that its OK to share this here & they are happy for me to do so.

So what are you waiting for? I think its an exciting new venture that everyone should take a peek at!!

Hi Anastasia :)

Are you looking for advice about what should be in TB or about your Etsy shop?

Just wonder, if you can have a look at my items on etsy and advice on which Items can be a success in TB and if they are a TB style at all.

If you got any advice on how to promote/improve my etsy shop/listings I will appreciate it too:)

Anastasia - with regards to your Etsy shop why not ask for a critique in the critique thread? Claire has been doing some FAB critiques there recently.

I would say that one thing that jumps out at me from the listing you posted here is its good to have a couple of photos without the model too - 1 so you can see the WHOLE necklace & a close up maybe?

As far as TB goes the most popular things of mine have been particularly british or English - like things with Union Jack etc on them or literary jewellery for me...

We are ALL just finding out what works there really (or what doesnt!!)

Hi Everyone,

I am going into the shop tomorrow to do some shelf shuffle stuff, and I was wondering how you have attached price labels? Particularly to free hanging earrings that you might have on an earring tree?

Thanks!

yes I had that problem Cassie. I just had to use a tiny tag attached to 1 earring but its not ideal as they HAVE come off on more than 1 occasion :(

Thats what I have been doing too. I cant say it looks very attractive on mine though I feel like it detracts from the piece a bit.

Tried a sticky one but then I couldnt get it off!

Cassie - while you're there, why don't you take a photo of your shelf and tell me here:

...so I can put it on the team blog!

I've shown them our stuff and registered with them and hope to book a shelf soon - if they've got any left!

They sent an email out about the 20% shopping discount. You can opt in or out per shelf (so all or none of your items, you can't pick a few things).

Just had a read back about displaying earrings - my earrings are on cards with price info on the back, similar to this - http://onetenzeroseven.com/blog/?p=116

If you still want them to hang on a 'tree' could you make them really small so they just spread across the two posts/wires (with wire sticking out the back to still hang on the 'tree') and just big enough to write your code/price on?

Sorry if you've already tried this and it's crap! Lol!

Michele maybe they only sent it to the people who registered their interest in the designer maker's team but if your things are going to be in-store on 17th November you can join in...

If you want to contact Lennie - maybe even by chat on the site if he is around?

Those of you worrying about pricing earrings - do you have a wide range of prices? At craft fairs I arrange my earrings in groups according to price and put each group on a separate stand or tree, then put a label at the bottom of the stand. It seems to work and I don't have to fiddle with individual minute labels. If I get the shelf I've asked for I expect to be able to do that there as well.

Isabel & Janet - thanks but that wont work as each pair has an individual stock number so its not just the price they have to be labelled with.

Each individual pair MUST be labelled - thats how the shop works...

Thanks for the heads up Paula - we haven't got our shelf yet so haven't been given the rules. Looks like we'll have to have a rethink if we get it!
