Twitter

Hello!

I am very interested in using Twitter as a marketing tool for my shop. For those who use it, do you have much success with it? How do you gain more followers, and do you see customers visiting your store via Twitter? Any advice or general thoughts on this? Thanks!

Re: Twitter

Dayna,

I've had fabulous luck with Twitter. My twitter account is linked to my other Etsy shop, and I have over 1,700 followers built up over a few years.

I use it to post my new listings and promote treasuries, and it's great to connect with other Etsy users to help promote them, too.

My experience is if you use Twitter for all business though, your tweets will most likely get lost in the zillions posted by the second. In reality, people aren't all that interested in your Etsy shop until they get to know you on a slightly more personal level or become familiar with your shop.

I feel that it's best to interact with other users on a friendly, chatty level and to also post what you're up to in an interesting and/or humorous way. And when I have a free minute, I scroll through the Tweets I find interesting and re-tweet them. Lots of interaction with give you lots of interaction in return. Usually if you follow others, they'll follow you back. Basically, you'll get out of Twitter what you put in.

And I have had a few direct sales from Twitter, too!

Here's my Twitter account: @famhousevogue.twitter.com. Follow me, and I'll follow you back.

All the best,
Kathy
