Aloha,
It's been ages since I've checked into the team that I started and I wanted to get some updated information from you makers out there.
As many of you know, there are fewer and fewer independent blogs out there these days. By independent, I mean blogs that promote makers and that don't share their post real estate with corporate sponsored content, i.e., Target, RStyle links, etc. Gone are the days when people used blogs to discover and share indie artists, artisans and makers.
I believe that the time is ripe for indie blogging to make a comeback and I feel very strongly that makers should lead the way. My questions to you are these:
Are you blogging? If not, what are the obstacles?
If you are blogging, would you like to monetize your blog without compromising your artistic integrity?
What impact has the blogosphere had on your business?
What role does social media play in the demise of blogging?
I'd love to hear your thoughts, either here or via email at brett@iamthelab.com. I am working on a project that I hope will fire up the maker community to give blogging a second look. Talk soon!
