I was so excited about receiving my first two bitcoin payments, but I have not heard back from the customers for days. Is this something that normally occurs?

Not normally, no. Did they leave you any contact info when they ordered? How did you communicate with them?

Payment must be arranged as an "other" type payment. You have to invoice the customer. Unfortunately there is no bitcoin gateway on Etsy.
