Sales and SEO Improvement

My shop is a year old and just started to somewhat get busier. I would like to know how to improve my sales and SEO. Any advice is much appreciated.

Hi Jen

Three things on a quick glance to start with.

Shop title/header - needs to be written for SEO. Take out your shop name and fill it with words that say what you sell.

Shop announcement - the first line should be full of words that say what you sell.

Location - not related to SEO but you need to change this to the correct format. As it is you most likely won't appear in any local searches. Locations should appear like this New York, New York, United States.

Thank you, Claire. Somehow I missed this information. The link was extremely helpful. As a newbie, myself, I must say that Etsy is a lot to "take in" if you are not a full-time seller. The SEO stuff alone is mind-boggling! Thanks again.

I made some changes and just wondered what else would be a good idea to do. Are my titles to short? Where do I find out what keywords are not Etsy legal?

You can say what you like in a title as long as you aren't lying.

As far as tags are concerned though they have to be factually correct ie you can only say what the item is.
