My name is Jim McLean and I am The Backyard Harmonica Teacher. I make the patented, playable FlashHarp® harmonica USB flash drive, which is basically a small playable harmonica that's also a flash drive. On that, I load my folksy video harmonica lesson. My store is called BackyardBrand.

FlashHarp is going to be featured on WGN TV's newscast this Wednesday, July 20, between 11a and 12p.

My point of view about the harmonica is that when it arrived here, in 1862, it was an instrument of the people, i.e., low in status. As a result, it was accepted and innovated with extensively as it migrated West and South. During the Twentieth Century, its status grew and it eventually became "hi art." I'd like to return the harmonica to being an instrument of the people again.

Carrying a FlashHarp lets anyone be a music person. And even if you stop playing for a while (it happens), you can always, during your down periods, just use the flash drive (that's what I call having a "Plan ⒷⒷ").

Hello,
I opened my first shop on Etsy about 8 months ago selling my handmade jewelry. I knew very little about SEO except that it was extremely important!

I figured out that there's a tremendous amount of competition and hard to get noticed on Etsy when you sell jewelry. Twenty years ago I owned a brick and mortar shop selling my jewelry and a friend encouraged me to also sell beads and supplies to increase business. I did, and it worked.

I decided to open a bead and supply shop on Etsy which also features my jewelry a couple of months ago. I definitely have more traffic now, but I'm not getting rich, that's for sure. I do think it's going pretty well, but my goal is to have several sales a day at least if I'm to make enough money to make this venture worthwhile.

I have focused a lot on SEO and branding, but there's always more to know on this subject, so I've joined hoping to help a little and learn something new!

Hello, my name is Colleen and I live in western mountains of NC. I have been designing and making jewelry for "forever". I usually work in 14 Kt gold filled wire and findings and argentium silver. I love to do customized items and welcome all requests.

I also make polymer clay vases, charactures, wedding/birthday cake toppers, trinket boxes and anything else that a customer may desire.

I haven't been active in my shop lately due to a lot of personal reasons but now it is time to get busy and bring my shop back to life.

I have a really hard time with SEO and writing descriptions so I am hoping that I can learn a lot of positive things to help me.

Hello! I'm Jen, and my husband, Colby, and I just started our shop, Green bubbles home & body. We specialize in homemade, all-natural alternatives to everyday products, as well as all-natural bath products. We opened our shop at the end of June (2011).

I have read a lot about the importance of SEO, and am just not sure I know what I'm doing since I am so new to it all. Any advice and information I could obtain would be greatly appreciated. I'm glad to have joined this team! :)

Hi, I'm Stephanie and I sell custom embroidery items for infants- adults, plus personalized gift ideas. I love to work with all types of fabric and I started selling here on Etsy this past February.

I love the creative process, but I have a lot to learn about getting sales. I hope to better understand how to get my items noticed by potential buyers and to be found by search engines. I hate to admit it but I've read a couple articles and find SEO very confusing.

I am Nadine and my business is My Birdie Designs. I make hair accessories for girls and some for ladies too. I have some beautiful chiffon flowers that I use on headbands that in person everyone really goes crazy for. This all started a few months ago with a favor to a friend to have a craft table at my daughters preschool in New York City and my friends were so excited about my things that a business was born! I want to learn as much as I can. I actually have a corporate retail background. I also make tooth fairy pillows, artwork and hair clip organizers.

Hi, I'm Holly, and my shop is Big Hairy Bugs! My cats and I love bugs (for different reasons...)! I sell cards and prints of my original drawings, many of which include lots and lots of cats. Greetings all. I am Wm. B. My shop is the Nally boys. I share the shop with my son "Big Dutch" Nally. We are outsider artists. Our work is mostly OOAK and definitely not main stream. Just opened a few weeks back.

Big Dutch has been drawing and making his creations since childhood with his first box of crayons. I started out as a photographer in El Paso in 1962.

For the past 35+ years I made a living selling my paintings and constructions in shows and art galleries. I have always done well and have managed to sell almost every piece I ever made. Fast forward to today. Health issues and age take their toll and I can't do the shows any longer although I would love to.

It is one thing to title work for sale at a show or in a gallery, it is something altogether different to describe a one of a kind piece for Google and search.

My objective is to learn how to translate what I call a piece into SEO so the folks that used to fill my booth at shows can find my work online.
