How to choose picture?

Hi, I need help with choosing photos - I had all item photos on white background. But then I made a photos where one of my friends has put my neckties on. I added those pictures as last ones to let to customer to see - how does it looks on. But now I start to think that my shop looks flat with these white photos. Maybe I should switch all last photos (with a person) to first ones? All photos are made with the same background, but maybe it still is not good?
I have no idea how to make my items to pop up in search, I think that one of reason is photos (I am working on tags as well).
I would really appreciate your thoughts - should I put last photo as the first one? Example in this listing: https://www.etsy.com/listing/95169797/hand-painted-silk-necktie-for-men-in
Maybe I should retook photos with some "better" model - this was just my friend, not a model...

Thank you in advice,

Re: How to choose picture?

Akwiinas, I actually prefer the white background photos you already have as your main photos. Your shop looks professional that way, very uniform and without distraction. It's great having the ties modelled on someone though, but if it were me I'd leave the people photos as secondary ones. Great artwork on your ties!

Re: How to choose picture?

I like photo's with people in them better than the white background. They look too clean to me, although other people love white backgrounds. Just look around and check out a lot of (successful) shops and decide what speaks to you.

Re: How to choose picture?

Personally my eye is drawn to the photos of the items being modelled. They are much more appealing than the ones taken on a white background.

Re: How to choose picture?

I kinda like the ones with the white background, although I do think it's good to have photos of the product in action as well. Could you do an experiment for like a week and use both the plain and modeled photos on your shop homepage and see which ones get more views?
