I am working on increasing my page/store views. Right now my views are pretty low. I was wondering, on average how many page views do you guys get per day?
Tsehaitu, I just looked in your shop at Turquoise and Gold Hipster Dangle Earrings. Then I did a search for dangle earrings and was surprised to find that you might want to try misspelling earrings "dangle earings" is a commonly used search term. Go figure! I also looked at your tags for this item and would like to suggest that instead of both jewelry and Jewelry, you might use one of those for the misspelled tag. :o) But you might not want to listen to me because I don't even get views every day!
In 2012 my views were around 10-20 each day, so far in 2013 my views have averaged around 110-120. I've started being a lot more active in my shop, changing my titles every day + listed more items, it has obviously helped :)
You guys are great! This is a really nice constructive thread. Thanks everyone!
I averaged 42 views per day in 2012.. I also averaged 1 order every other day for 2012. This translated to $17 a day in sales in my etsy shop for 2012. (please note i am actively involved in a trading group so some of this, probably 1/16th could be trade)
I played around with search ads October 2011 - Febuary 2012 I did get sales and views but for me I eventually decided there were cheaper ways of doing general advertising . I only do search ads right around peak holiday times now.
I have a custom made product, but I am able to re-use the same listings and pictures over and over. I keep around 170 items listed in my shop.
I am very sporadic in my involvement in teams, but I try to relist / renew at least one item each day and this gives me a chance to examine the title/ message / key words ect of the listing and do any tweaking I feel is good before I renew it. I also post on my facebook about 3 times per week.
My best advertising has been cultivating my customers with immediate convo response times and next day shipping on orders! I get a lot of repeat customers.
I also do a lot of stumbling, articles, other peoples etsy items, and then throw my own in occasionally. I find if you are generous with promoting others it does come back to you. I also use pinterest.
I would love to hear more from others on the best way to effectively utilize teams. To be honest all the promoting threads where people just post their items I find very annoying and really wonder if anyone actually really looks at them? Do those do any good? What does work?
Hi everyone.Just joined this team and found this wonderful thread. I average 160-200 views per day for 44 items.I really don't know if this is good or not. I had 11 sales in my first year.Any thoughts about this numbers? Should I work more at my titles and tags?Any advice will be high appreciated.Thank you .
30 per day average - this is the improved number. I worked hard to get here. Now it seems to be inching up to 50 a day this last 2 weeks. not sure what I am doing. No more sales from it. need to put more items in the shop before I can complain about it! wondering - your opinion please - should I open other shops that sell more categorically specific items? I could open a shop just for Art Notecards or Sculpture or Supplies.... I haven't because all the items drive traffic to the site!
"That's just it, Michelle! Without SALES, having tons of views seems of little importance. I know it it exciting to see that column's number so high, but if you go several days with hundreds of views and no sales at all, it does little for one's bottom line!" - There's the rub! If it doesn't produce sales, its either something we are doing or the undesirableness of our items!
I think that all of us have lovely items for sale. I want to say this so no one takes offense at the last post where I jokingly wonder how desirable our items are. Sometimes, I wonder. But I know that my items are indeed unique and salable, as are everyone else's. So, it is the million dollar question, what to do to improve our chances of making a sale. I would love to hear stat specifics from shop owners who feel they are successful. How many hits do you get in a day? How many sales per day or week correspond to that? To what do you attribute your success? This is the place to be specific. Thanks, as always! Love you all!
Hi again! I gave specific stats on page 3 so I won't repeat them, but to address a few specific things that I think really helped me get sales:
Quite frankly I joined a trade group and started trading some products. Once My shop started showing sales and feedback then I started getting a lot more sales and feedback. Sales beget sales and success begets success. I know this isn't a viable option for some but to be honest, trading got me excited about etsy, using etsy as a buyer as well as a seller, and generated a lot more buzz for me. To this day when I get in a slump I do a few trades and it helps perk me and my shop back up!
Also, list as many items as you possibly can. The more items you have the better you do!
I keep a master list of search words for my products and type them in regularly to see what kind of hits the etsy search engine generates from them. That way I can see if I am being found and tweak my list accordingly.
Don't give up! Pin! Stumble! Facebook! join teams that do these things for each other!
Hope this helps...Keep the suggestions and encouragement rolling!
A note on converting views to sales: Do you have clear cut, buyer friendly shipping guidelines and shipping prices? How is your selling message in your listing? If you have many views but few sells, you may consider concentrating your efforts on improving your actual selling message in your listing. Look at successful sellers and see what they say in their listings, read articles and postings on this subject. obviously your pictures, tags, and titles are good because you are getting views. So now focus on creating a buyer friendly atmosphere in the body of your listing, your shop policies, and your about page. ~Windy
Congratulations on opening your shop Cheri! My husband has a photography shop and we have found the secret to lots of views in a photography shop to be list, list, list!
I don't get a lot of views but I slacked off through December and I am just now getting back in the swing of things. I would love to improve my shop though and have my items turn up in more searches.
I get about 20-40 a day, but no sales yet (started about 4 weeks ago). I also use Etsy search ads but i've not had much luck with them...about 1-5 views a day :/
