brand new seller looking for advice. Before I start, I know my pictures are dark and not good - I've invested in a photography box and am awaiting its arrival before I re-take all of my photos.
Anyway, I posted on the main forums the other day and got a bit confused by the responses. I updated the title and tags of the first two items in my store (thistle necklace, abalone earrings) following some information on good SEO. One person said I'd done it correctly, another said I hadn't and that I shouldn't bother using the same word more than once. I.e. don't say "thistle necklace" if you've already said "thistle pendant" - because you don't need to repeat the word thistle. This seems sensible to me, but also goes against what I've read about optimising tags and titles.
Can you lovely people help me out? As I say, I've only worked on the top two listings so far; I don't want to edit them all until I know I'm doing the right thing.
