Am I using the wrong Search Words for potential customers

Hello all, I have just joined your group and really could do with some advice.

I have been running my shop now for around 8 months but haven't had one sale yet. Although I am getting lots of favorites but I think that because I have joined a number of Teams lately where I get the opportunity to promote my creations.

Is there a possibility that I am not using the correct Search Words for potential customers to find my creations that are willing to buy?

I would really be grateful to receive any advice that I will work on to rectify :-) x

Also I am a UK Seller but do ship abroad

Re: Am I using the wrong Search Words for potential customers

Titles looked like they would work ok in search. Have you studied your STATS to see how many views you are getting and where they are coming from? I spend some time searching for my listings using search words like a customer would, to see if my titles and tags are working.

The first few words of the discription are important, too.

I had the same problem, for about eight months and finally figured out that I had lots of work to do understanding SEO's. I am now being found much better. Don't give up.

Hi Tasha,
You have a lovely shop.

Great suggestion above to track your stats. Experiment with your tags.
Also, continue reading through the SEO help forum. Take notes on what you can apply.

I looked at the purple flower hair clip.
My thoughts:
Tags- Add barrette. (spelling-?)
Barrette Clip
Flower Barrette
Clay Flower Barrette
Purple Flower
Hair Decoration (?)
Purple Clay Flower

* You have both Purple Rose and Purple Roses. To me, that's too close, and a waste of a tag.

Profile- Remove the part about "sadly there was not enough interest" because that is most definitely a negative thought. You could say that you started your fun with Polymer Clay by experimenting with making the magnets, and branched out to make the hair clips and jewelry.

Policies:
Remove "I would hope that you receive your order safely and intact". That is very negative. Could definitely make buyers skip right out of your shop.
Instead- All orders are carefully wrapped in padded bubble wrap to ensure safety while shipping.

? Small deposit for custom orders?
I would think twice about that. I think most shops expect full payment.

Try renewing items more frequently. I know I have more views when I do that.

Good luck. :)

I never thought about renewing items for the sole purpose of getting more views. That makes sense and I bet would help increase traffic. Now I am off to go text my tags in searches.
