Re: Beads for Trade

Here are a couple of sets of beads that I'm putting up for trade. There are 70+ of the glass crackle beads and 60+ of the shell beads. For either of them, I'd be willing to trade for a set of 53+ beads suitable for a rosary (it takes 53 beads to make a "regular" rosary). Best are usually 6mm or 8mm size. I use natural stones, pearls, and glass (but no longer use crackle beads).

Re: Beads for Trade

If anyone has any tourmaline left overs to trade, I'm looking for maybe about 10-20 "chip" style tourmalines to make a tree-of-life pendant with...

Trudy, I love round beads of any type of natural stone, and 6-8mm is a perfect size for me too. Since I mostly make earrings, all I really need/am looking for is 2 of each type to match (although I'll take up to 6-10 per kind, just looking for some variety.) If you would be willing to make me a listing that would come out to $10 with shipping of 'leftover pairs' let me know! I'm especially searching for amethyst now... I wouldn't really want to know what's in the listing, I would rather just buy it and get a happy surprise. =).

Re: Beads for Trade

Megan, sorry I haven't been checking into teams lately and didn't see your request. I'll see what I can come up with as far as some natural stone round beads. I know it's probably a little late for amethyst now, but I do have some nice 6mm faceted rounds ("disco ball" type faceting) that I could send 8-10 of. I also have 6mm faceted rounds of alexandrite and aquamarine that I could send 4 each of; they're opaque rather than "gemstone" clear, but the color is nice. You can see rosaries made with the alexandrite and the aquamarine in the "birthstone rosaries" section of my shop.

I'd have to look to see what else I have. I do have tons (almost literally) of 6mm smooth rounds of turquoise-colored dyed howlite from a custom order gone awry - I know that's not exactly natural.

Re: Beads for Trade

For something a little different, I have some prehnite (6mm microfaceted rounds) and rhodochrosite (8mm smooth rounds). You can see rosaries made from them in the "other semiprecious" shop section. I know you said you didn't want to know ahead of time what I'd send, but I'd hate to send something you really don't like - and they're not everyone's cup of tea.

Re: Beads for Trade

I know, right? I almost thought maybe this team had died, but I guess people are probably busy with Valentine's day around the corner- big time for jewelry!

I like amethyst all year round, although I was surprised I haven't sold any yet. I'd be down for just about anything, long as it's in pairs. Just let me know when you're ready!

Re: Beads for Trade

Oh, and I love aventurine too! Haven't really every worked with Alexandrite, but it sounds pretty. I pretty much like just about anything though!

Re: Beads for Trade

Over the past couple of days, I've had two custom order requests that are going to affect what I have available. It's my day off, so I'll do some local looking today but will probably be ordering more prehnite and some lapis. I've also been getting a lot of search hits for fluorite, so I should get more of that. At the moment, all I have is a rosary with amethyst Hail Mary beads and fluorite Our Father beads, which is probably not what people are looking for.

I don't know that I have any aventurine. I've used peach aventurine, but I don't see any in my stash. There might be some leftovers that I didn't label - I used it quite early in my "career" and I wasn't always good about keeping track of things then.

Yes, I really like alexandrite. It's a birthstone for June. One thing I've found with it is that it's very difficult to match different lots, but anything I'd send you would be matched pairs of beads

Sorry this is taking awhile. Hopefully I can get something together this weekend. I don't know if I'll be able to put together $10 worth, though, unless you want to wait until I see what I have left from the custom orders. I have things like obsidian and sodalite, but those are probably more rosary material than earrings. Would you have any interest in freshwater pearls if they were matched and a nice round shape?

Re: Beads for Trade

Yeah, I like pearls too. If the pearls are somewhat smaller, (like 6mm or less) I would probably use them in ear cuffs so they wouldn't need to necessarily be matching.

Actually, just about anything smaller than 6mm could work in an ear cuff, so it doesn't necessarily have to be pairs. I just don't like having to buy a full strand of something because it usually takes me quite some time to make it through a full strand and I get bored with it. =).

Re: Beads for Trade

Here are a couple of destash items I've listed recently. I think both would be particularly good for bracelets or watch bands. I'd be looking to trade for 6mm/8mm beads that are in a lot of at least 55, or larger beads in lots of at least 6:

(Of course, these are available to be purchased, too.)

Re: Beads for Trade

...if there's anyone still active in this group...

A bunch of my bead soup/destash listings are going to expire this week. http://www.etsy.com/shop/SurrealHaloStudio?section_id=13576163

I'm open to any trade *except* anything plastic (resin, acrylic, Lucite, etc.) and I'd prefer glass or gemstone.
