What do you do to promote your business?

I'm wondering what you guys do besides Etsy to get your name out there. I have a Facebook page and I was thinking about maybe starting a blog too. Any other ideas?

Hi Nicole. I have a Facebook page and I am on Twitter too, besides having a website as well. I show my jewellery to friends and in that way it gets round word of mouth. Leaflets through doors, in shops is one way of getting noticed although no guarantees for potential sales. Still, worth a try. As for blogs, haven't really thought about that, not really into it I guess.

I've started a blog - about my shopping adventures and vintage finds. Pretty much every post has a link to a listing or the shop itself. I also have a facebook page and I pin (to pinterest) every item I list.
Don't underestimate long lost friends on Facebook. I was weary to invite all my old high school friends to like my facebook page. My first etsy sell was to an old high school classmate that I hadn't talked to in years.

I have a blog, facebook, pinterest, and instagram. It is a lot of work to keep up with them all! Honestly, the blog is the most work and though I get followers, I rarely get clicks to my shop even though I promote it fairly often. Facebook seems to just be a lot of my friends and no one else. I actually get a lot of attention on instagram, but not sure how many visit my shop. Pinterest has been a bomb so far, but maybe I'm doing something wrong. (Funny, because I have tons of followers and repins on my personal account)
I keep everything on those accounts relevant to my shop (so animals, pets, outdoors, etc.) instead of simply advertising every listing. I think that helps because someone who is interested in a post may keep reading and eventually be lead to my store even if they weren't seeking it.

How do you manage instagram? I did try that too, and I use hashtags, but I haven't noticed any traffic from that too much yet.

I have a link to my shop on my profile and I direct users there if I post listings. I suppose I could put a link in each post too. I use a lot of hashtags, mostly relating to the picture. For example, if I post a horse listing and I use lots of horse hashtags, I'll see a lot of "horse" people liking it.
Also, if I see other Etsy sellers using instagram, I'll follow them in hopes of a return follow. Hope that helps!

I just added a coupon code and submitted it to sites like retail me not and etsy codes. I just submitted them this morning and I've already gotten multiple views directly from those sites. :) Very happy about that... Now of only someone would purchase something - I would be very happy!
