Yeah I was a paramedic now I am. 911 dispatcher for police fire and medical. I know I woke up to my sale this am! I am so excited! Dialing the rounds back a bit it is getting to be overwhelming for some! I guess I am used to chaos with my profession and all that these rounds were nothing for me to do. But I do want people to sell and some people said that it was too much so gonna just do 2 rounds from now on and see how it goes. Lol 10 rounds at once would have been incredible! It would have been a mini online mall! Lol

Question....

I have been spending a lot of time trying to understand this whole SEO thing , so I have been tweaking my tags, my titles, and how I word my descriptions. So far I have been getting great results. My views have increased a lot. I wanna know how many hits you guys get from Google? I know that some sellers get an average hit of more than 500 hits a month from google resulting to tons of sales.

SEO stands for search engine optimization. Basically it's an art of how you get yourself found on any search engine especially Google. How to get around their algorithm . By achieving that you need to learn the art of using the right keywords, right tags, how to properly word your titles, and how you can be at the top of google ranking so that you will find yourself on the front page when you or customers from around the world are searching for a certain item. I just recently joined an SEO team and its helping me out a lot on my views.

Bern we are missing a lot by not understanding this whole SEO thing. I've often asked myself how come there are sellers here who generate thousands of sales in a year? what's making them so successful? A big part of that success has alot to do with SEO. I have found a great tool to help me with my tags or keywords and it's free...it's called "Google keyword tool" and what I do is enter a keyword related to what I am selling and it will tell you how many people are searching for the item. For example....there are atleast 6 million people searching for the word "Jewelry" , but that word is broad....a person who enters that word is a browser...not necessarily your target customer...., but you a phrase like " statement necklace' would be more specific....the person searching for such item would likely be your potential customer. So aside from using the word jewelry, u could also use statement necklace.....argh I don't know if im making any sense.

Joanne I made 4 sales within 2 days and my customers were not even Etsy sellers. I think it had a lot to do with being found on Google. Keep working on your titles, descriptions and tags. I also read somewhere that separate your title phrases with dash instead of commas. Don't be redundant by cutting and pasting titles on similar items. Google could see that as spam and u could end up in cyber oblivion lol...it happens . Back links....at the end of ur descriptions ...add a link to your main shop page ...I added links to similar items, links to shop policies and my shop.

In regards to the SEO...you guys are welcome...I just want my team mates to succeed with me so yeah....let's do this together and try to understand more of what this SEO is all about. There is no reason why we can't be just as successful as those people with thousands of sales.
