Yeah you should be ok-I've brought bamboo paintbrushes with me before. Just remember to declare them, that way your worst case scenario is they confiscate them/make you throw them away there...
+1 to what Zelda said. Just don't forget to declare. If you declare and it is not allowed you just lose the item. If you don't declare and customs or quarantine find it there will be a fine and you still lose them. You don't get in trouble normally for declaring on the customs entry form.
