What in the world?

Extremely strange.
I get an email from Etsy, congratulating me for noticing that one of my items is receiving a spike in views. I've never gotten this before. So, I had to sit down at my computer to re-read the email, and then went to check my stats.

Mind you, my views have been consistently zero, or just slightly above. This morning, I had 9 views, 1 favorite.

At this moment, 130 views, 95 of which is for one item! What is happening? It says the views are coming from Etsy, facebook.com, and m.facebook.com.
I have not an idea what m.facebook.com is.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? It's bizarre, and I don't know what's going on. Any insight would be helpful.

Re: What in the world?

Etsy probably featured your listing on their Facebook page. I think that m.facebook means "mobile facebook" but I'm not 100 percent sure about that.

But anyway, congratulations on the increased views! Wish I could get 130 views in one day!

Re: What in the world?

No. Donnarose, it's just weird. Never happened before. And the email from Etsy? That's even weirder! Something is amiss.

No favorites? Out of 186 views (by the end of day)? It just hasn't been right.

Re: What in the world?

If they all the views came from Facebook they would most likely not be people with Etsy accounts. Only people with Etsy accounts can choose "favorites."

These are all potential new customers--it's a good thing!

Re: What in the world?

Also, the email you got was probably a form letter that they send to everyone whose listings they choose to highlight on their facebook page. No mystery there.

Re: What in the world?

That's great! Congratulations! Sounds like somebody shared it on Facebook and Sk Cole is probably right that it was Etsy! My views are way up from earlier! I think they finally smoothed things out here!

Re: What in the world?

My views are up as well, but probably no thanks to Etsy. Somebody with a huge followers' list "favorited" one of my listings, plus I've been tweeting and wanelo'ing like hell!

I hope that Etsy is through with twiddling with their website format for awhile. :)
