Stay focused on art and prints or branch out?

So I have a problem.

There are so many things I want to do!

I have been selling original art and art prints, but now I am curious about expanding to cards and/or digital clip art. I started posting and selling some digital clip art already. I'm wondering if I should stay focused on just the art or if a little diversity never hurt anyone?

Thoughts? :)

Good question, Which lead me to this discussion here https://www.etsy.com/teams/7722/discussions/discuss/12416150/
This may interest you Heatherlee.

I printed out some cards myself and was disappointed in the quality and resorted to having a set made and still not satisifed.

Digital clip art is and has been quite the trend lately.

Heatherlee, there has been a lot of questions f/ sellers as to how to easily download your etsy purchase. It may be in your sellers listing to give this link which will be good to have in your tag/keywords as well.

Re: Stay focused on art and prints or branch out?

Sheri, thank you for the link on how to download! I loved that one and I already have it pop up in the message after they purchase the item. I haven't had a problem yet! I love how you can sell it to anyone in the world and you don't have to worry about shipping.

As far as the cards, I had the same issue DonnaRose and Sheri. I took them to get printed on cardstock at a local printer---it was not even that nice and it was still costly.

I saw someone get 4x6 prints, chop them, and then mount them to a card. That might be the only way to get them to actually have the right coloring and look nice. It's just a lot of money to pour into making a professional bulk order if you are not even sure about it, so this mounting option is the only one that feels comfortable.

Thank you so much for your replies and input :)

Re: Stay focused on art and prints or branch out?

You are welcome Heatherlee. Heatherlee, I've been playing with personal quotes and poems with my artworks and they have been well rec'd. Then again, I haven't inquired as to selling them. I've wondered if there is a selling plus to digital downloads custom orders? Or am I just delusional on this concept? It is easily done in a photo shop BUT not with your original pdf copyright of the artist. Thanks for everyone's thoughts on this subject.
