Please tell us about your medium and lets start getting of appreciate each others art.

I'm Donnarose and I live with my husband in a smaller town in Montana. Have 2 great daughters and 4 grandchildren...where did the years go. Painting helps me keep myself somewhat sane.
I paint with oil, watercolor and acrylic. Been painting for years. and have taught but not for a while. Acrylic is a newer medium for me. Sometimes I love and sometimes I hate it.
Mostly love oils and watercolor and decided to paint more with oils for now.....

Hi everyone, thank you so much for allowing me to join this team Donnarose!

I've dabbled in pretty much every medium, my favourite being acrylics. Here on Etsy I sell graphic marker drawings. I am hoping to add some paintings to my shop soon. They are starting to pile up but, with 2 small children at home I barely have time to paint nevermind photograph and list!!!
I have been painting and drawing for years but only started seriously selling my work last year. I am so amazed and humbled that people not only want to hang my work in their homes but are willing to pay for it! I can now say that I am truly living the dream. :)

I am so glad I found this team. Looking forward to some art related discussions!

Hi I am new to Etsy, I use oil on canvas and i also make dolls with wool.

Hi, I just joined this team, just started listing in October.

I was an art major/art ed in college, but was turned into a sp ed. teacher. That's my primary income, so I can kind of bumble around in Etsy until I figure out how to get regular sales.

Visual art-wise I do pottery and watercolor. I'm amazed at how many of you are watercolorists as well.

Does anyone else have this problem? I am afraid to paint, fearing the failure of the painting. I know it's ridiculous, but there it is. I've found that if I put myself in a class, it keeps me painting. Sometimes I'm able to get together with other painters, and that works too.

Welcome, Abbey! I'm often nervous about starting new paintings, so I can sympathize with your fear of failure. I sometimes stare at a white canvas, thinking, "if I don't start anything, at least I haven't messed it up..."

Then I stick my brush in some paint and get started, because what the heck have I got paint and canvas for, if not to do paintings? I keep hoping I'll get over the nervousness, but I haven't yet.

Hi everyone. I started painting again three months ago, just after the birth of my daughter, having not painted in nearly 15 years. I was surprised how much I have enjoyed it and am determined to paint a lot this year. I only paint watercolours at the moment, as well as doing some pencil sketches. I would love to try oil painting one day, but at the moment am enjoying the speed and freedom of watercolours.

I decided to join Etsy to try to sell some of my work to raise money for charity - haven't sold any yet, but hopefully will do as I add more listings! I am doing a mixture of originals from photographs (which are in my shop) and studies of paintings that I like, to try to loosen up my painting a bit and develop my style. I'm also planning to paint outdoors a bit when the weather improves (it's wet and cold in the UK at the moment). It's great to be a part of this group and hear other peoples experiences.
