I'm a little scared, and I owe it to facebook!

I live in a New Mexico Art Community/Resort Town. We are probably #3 or 4 behind Taos and Santa Fe. Home to famous Artists like Henrietta Wyeth, Peter Hurd, McGary, Kenneth Wyett, etc. In other words... I am Nobody here!
Every year there is a big open studio event, it's widely marketed and promoted. People come from all over the Southwest for it.

I've been invited to submit an application to the Jury to participate in 2014. YIKES!!!

Applications have to be submitted by Dec. 9, including a CD of the work, Artist statement, website, and of course... the fee.

I've never applied to anything Juried before. Creating my website is critical now, no more procrastinating. Feelings of "not being good enough" are creeping in, and also the "fear of rejection". Geez, I hope I don't screw this up for myself!
In my community, this is a Big Deal!

Just go for it, Trish. People of our age group (I assume you are about the same age as I am because you have a grown son) don't have that many years left to keep putting things off and "going for the gold."

Trish, you aren't NOBODY. You are SOMEBODY! And you have already succeeded by just being nominated to submit your entry admission!!!!!!!

If you do not submit you can't get rejected. That's some famous quote I paraphrase for not making anymore excuses.

Trish, the first time I visited New Mexico, I saw those huge skies with the big rolling clouds and I thought, "By Golly, all those Remington and Russel paintings are TRUE." Ha Ha!

SK we have the Charles Russell museum here in Montana . His old painting studio with his easel and paints. His colors are so much more vibrant then the pictures they print.

Sk Cole ~ when I got off the plane in NM and turned around and saw those skies and the mountains I thought it was a Hollywood set and someone was going to wheel away the scenery backdrop! HAH! I hope to return one day. <3 it *best vacation yet.

I'm attempting to get all my ducks in a row now. Just feels a little overwhelming... So much that I must do, and of course, So much that I want to do. LoL.

I do have to admit that New Mexico has the most beautiful skies. Constant painting material!.

I visited New Mexico a few years back and it felt like home! Not many places give me that feel. It was so gorgeous, especially the sky! I woke up early, looked outside my hotel room, to see a field of the most colorful hot air balloons taking off! It was an amazing and unexpected site! You must get so much inspiration living there!

Sheri..... Everything is ready except the CD and the fee. I'm going to have to borrow the money from our "real" business. LoL. For the CD, I can't decide which of my works to submit.
