Donna, I think everyone is just busy through the summer months. It'll pick back up after Labor Day!

Any Artists paying attention... I have really good luck with facebook promoting, I have even been making most of my August sales through facebook!

I've just been really depressed about Etsy. The new format changes have, once again, made my traffic fall off. It's now in the single digits.

I feel so discouraged. I keep trying to drive traffic to my shop with other media, then I get a little bit ahead, and then good ole Etsy makes all my hard work worthless!

Today I have zero page views. Yes, absolutely zero. Way to go Etsy!

Before the most recent listing format change I had 20-40 page views per day.

Before the "search" engine change last October that was supposed to "help" buyers find our sites, I had 60-80 page views per day.

SK Cole, I hear you!! I thought it was just me, because everyone else seems to be making some sales.
My views have gone from 90 to 100 per day down to zero, or at most 11. I simply don't have the time to try to figure out how to get them back up!
I'm really discouraged, and am thinking that I'll focus my attention elsewhere.
Anyone else having this problem???

Since opening, I have gotten 1 or 2 sales per month consistently, until now. August was 0! I know that my work isn't different. It's Etsy.

Thanks Trish. I thought it was just me. There are other people in the discussion forum who are having the same problem.

Someone said it was because every time Etsy does a major change to its website, it takes the search engines a long time to find the pages again.

I wish Etsy would stop "helping" us, don't you?

SK Cole- I feel the same way! Just when views are picking up they change something. I can always tell when they've changed something because my views drop dramatically. Right now the listings that are being found are from at least a year ago. I just took a quick view of my stats and it looks like the downturn started in April going down each month, and now my views are next to nothing. I'm directing my attention to other things right now until things get better on here. I'm not going to waste my money renewing when they're not being seen. Hopefully things will fix themselves. (positive vibes!)

Jennifer you are so correct about the listing fees. By rights, they should refund them whenever one of their website "improvements" destroys our traffic.

SK Cole, Jennifer, I say Let's just keep on doing what we do, Promote the best we can, Support each other, And hopefully our "views" and "favorites" will increase with our positive energy!

People are also always busy in August... Vacations wind down, children go back to school, Holidays are just around the corner.

I'm going to focus on building inventory, Learning more, starting a Website, and just being an Artist!

SK Cole- I've thought the same thing about them refunding when they change something that results in low views.
Things have been picking up for me a little, as far as views go.

My views (and sales) have been super disappointing here on Etsy. I'm not sure what they are doing, but it stings!

However, facebook and local sales have been terrific. So, I guess that's where I need to focus my attention.

I'm back after a hugely long break--sorry about that! I haven't noticed a huge change in views, but I never had the astronomically high numbers you guys had--that's impressive!

Facebookers: I'm curious how you're making sells! I have a page, but I mainly use it to give updates on my work/blog posts. How are you reaching people to sell stuff? Are they people you already know or strangers? I have a few pending projects for friends, but I always end up giving the "friends and family" deal to all of them, so it's not really helping my bottom line! Talking price is awkward anyway for me, but just too awkward when it's a friend or family member! Do any of you deal with that?

I've been tempted to purchase ads and see, but wanted to get more content on my page first... slowly but surely. I figure I'll promote on Etsy once I get more in my shop. This year is definitely going slowly, haha.
