Re: how to sell my paintings

Hi!   I didn’t sell things for years at Etsy until I listed prints. Prints of original art are a cost effective way for people to collect when they can’t afford an original.

I think:
- you need a lower price,
- more pictures,
- Put the likes other Etsy sellers)
Good luck!

It helps to have more items at a variety of price points.  Have you considered printing your artwork onto greeting cards or limited addition prints?  Also, maybe show how your artwork would look in a furnished room

Re: how to sell my paintings

Your paintings are very nice. It's hard to sell art and Etsy is not exclusively for artwork  like Saatchi or Fine Arts America. It may be harder to sell here. I did not sell my first painting till more than one year after starting my shop on etsy. Wish you best of luck!

Re: how to sell my paintings

I find original art is harder to sell in Etsy. Prints do well.

I think it may help to have more pieces listed. Typically you need  upwards 20+ listings to look like more of an authority and serious shop. As of now it seems a little bare.

Also, work on better photos. Buyers want to feel like they’re seeing your art in person, with as much texture and angles as possible so there’s no surprises when their piece arrives. Nice clean, bright, non-yellow, lighting is bet!

I’ve personally never sold any originals over $110, but my smaller originals priced between $80- $110 did well! So maybe focus on smaller works :) that’s what I’ll be doing too as I’ve neglected my shop over the past semester 🙈 trying to balance everything gets hard but it’s nice to have support to figure it all out with.

Best of Luck!!!

Re: how to sell my paintings

I paint custom pet and people portraits and have been selling for a really long time. I can tell you that sales for me on Etsy seem to go seasonal. It really picks up around the holidays. Make sure that you really tag and write detailed descriptions of what the buyer can expect to receive. You have to advertise outside of Etsy by getting really active on social media. It takes a while for your shop to get more views so participate in as many teams as you can. If you like have a peek at my shop https://www.etsy.com/shop/PetPortraitsbyNC
