Re: Joseph

Joseph , it is very difficult to critique strangers.  The best person to ask would be an art teacher who does that for a living.

I don't know how long you have been selling on line but if it is a short time my suggestion is to paint as much as yoiu can, read all the art books you can get hold of - very ecomonical from the library.    The more you paint the more you will improve.   I have been painting for forty years and I am still learning.    You sound like a very young man, have patience and just paint.

With kindest regards, Lucelle raad

Re: Joseph

Hi Joseph,

I would introduce yourself to your customer and give them background about you and your work. What is your art education and your inspiration?  Is each piece one of a kind?  Do you do custom pieces?  I am still fairly new to Etsy, but hope that helps.

Re: Joseph

HI Joseph, I love your paintings! You are very good.  Why don't you try taking photos of your work in front of a white back ground.  This will really make the image stand out without distraction

Re: Joseph

Hi Joe, you could try leaving a space after the commas in your titles. I may be wrong but I heard that if you don't do that it doesn't register on google if people are looking for those phrases. Another good reason to do that is that you want to make it easier for people to read. I know many of us are guilty of cramming titles but I would still at least leave spaces after commas. Also, there are apps that can show paintings in a room, so that's another idea. Your prices are very very reasonable, especially since you are offering free shipping. "Country Decor" or "rustic painting" might be a couple of good tags to use. You want to use tags and phrases that people might search for. Also, some more info in the description might be nice or photos of you working on your about page. Luxe mentioned custom work, so you could offer that option if you're open to it, but if so, make sure to get at least 50% before you start the painting so you're not out of luck if they change their mind, which can happen.
