Critique my store please... why NO SALES? Too expensive?

I just started selling my handmade things on Etsy, but I'm concerned that my prices are too high, no one is buying! I've had over 150 visits, but I believe my prices are turning people away.
I used the Etsy pricing calculator, but my prices seem too high. $135 for a small necklace holder might be too steep for a lot of people.
At the same time, I put in many hours into each one of my creations, engineered each joint, layers upon layers of special chalk paint, sanding and scraping, etc! Does my potential buyers even care or can appreciate all my sweat and tears? Frustrating, I truly care about what I make and want to share my best work with everyone. Each one is a work of art! How much would YOU pay for my products, it's OK, you can be honest. Give me your lowest and highest prices.
I would appreciate any suggestions or advice. Thank you! Gary

I guess I'm all alone in this Etsy world :(
No one wants to critique my store, I know it's that all that exciting, but that's why I would value your feedback.
Please give me a few words, I'll take anything, just to get some interaction going.

Thanks

Hi Gary, you're not alone in the Etsy world. This is more of a team for visual arts, painting, drawing, photography, and sculpture. Also it's more for critiquing your work, not your over all shop. There are a lot of teams for that.

Not trying to be rude, but this is why you probably haven't gotten a response......

That said, look at some other shops that make the same types of things that you make and look at their pricing and sales. You need to be competitive, but in the end only you can determine your prices.

Good luck!

Re: Critique my store please... why NO SALES? Too expensive?

Hi Gary--I am also a little mystified by this critique team. I too have had a post for a critique and have heard zip. Hint, Hint...if anyone would like to critique my painting, I would really appreciate it.

I, on the other hand, love doing critiques! That is why I joined-- I looked at your items. They are very nice, and as someone who has done quite a bit of wood work, can appreciate the blood, sweat, and tears that goes into the sanding, scraping, priming, painting etc.
The problem that I found in doing hand painted woodwork is that rarely did I ever get the price that justified all of the hours that I put into it.

I have also found on Etsy, that in my experience, shoppers like lower priced items. If a person saw your items in a gallery, they would not bat an eye at the price. But it seems like sellers on Etsy have to price pretty low. Have you tried approaching boutiques and shops that specialize in high end decorating items? I did great in those venues when I did wood working.

Also, while I do like the traditional lines of your items, I wonder if you went a little wild with your "pegs" if that would help attract interest, and maybe help you to get a higher price. Could you keep an eye out for unusual things to use in place of the pegs? Like old antique door knobs, pieces of hardware, antique hooks, etc? Something to set your creations apart from everyone else? Just a suggestion.
And also, keep posting other items to fill up your shop. Don't give up--if Etsy is slow or turns out not to be a place that you sell a lot, use it as your website. Try different ways of selling like galleries, boutiques. Follow your passion.
