do you give away your patterns? I had a request?

Hi I have a question to ask, I had a convo from a person on etsy (not a customer and joined etsy today), is requesting one of my patterns.

Have any of you encountered this situation and if so what did you do?

This pattern is one that my husband knits for my shop and its from a pattern book I got years ago.

I have seen this pattern on etsy and its not custom, like my cable pattern is, still I am hesitant to give it away.

Any and all answers will help, I have to respond withen a day to her.

I have never encountered that but personally I would say no because even though it is not a custom pattern, it isn't yours to give away. And that's rude for them to ask. It's different if it's on a site like Ravelry but this is a marketplace. If it is not listed for sale, then it should not be asked for. That's just my opinion.

Edit: Oh wow I just noticed you posted this nearly a month ago. Sorry for not seeing this sooner!
