[Update 2/5] Community updates are currently underway

Hi everyone,

This month, we began rolling out major improvements to Etsy’s community spaces. Teams and Forums have been central to Etsy since 2005, and our goal with these changes is to make it easier for you to connect with other members, grow your creative business, and keep up with the latest site news.

As we take these next steps forward together, we’re dedicated to bringing you the best experience possible. Please be aware that our team is actively working on shortening page load times for Teams and Forums following the community migration. We’re also committed to refining our community features, and will continue to address any bugs that may come up.

We’ll be sharing additional updates about site speed and feature improvements here as soon as they become available, so please stay tuned for more details.

UPDATE ON 2/5

Over the last two weeks, we’ve made a number of refinements to Teams and Forums. Below are some of the highlights, along with a few troubleshooting areas our team is currently reviewing.

  • We’ve added a temporary section of the Forums called Member Q&A: New community spaces, where you can converse with other sellers about your questions and find helpful tips for making the most of improvements to Forums and Teams.
  • Instances where members were unable to find or @mention members should now be resolved.
  • Fonts have been updated and should now be easier to read throughout community spaces.
  • White space has been reduced within Teams and Forums discussion threads.
  • We're aware that Team Captains and Leaders are unable to send bulk messages to their members at this time, and understand how important this feature is for all team members. A solution is in the works and we’ll let you know as soon it becomes available.
  • Search speeds within the Teams and Forums have been shortened and performance will continue to improve in the coming weeks.
  • Following the migration to Etsy’s new community spaces, members who are muted in the Forums are currently unable to post in Etsy Team discussion boards. This change remains under review and we’ll continue to provide updates here as they become available.

 

UPDATE ON 1/25

As promised, we’re back with the latest updates on the recent community transition. We’re currently seeing major improvements in the load times for Teams and Forums pages, and expect this performance to continue to improve in the coming weeks.

While this list is not comprehensive, here are a few additional highlights of work that’s currently underway:

  • Making the font easier to read throughout community pages
  • Reducing the white space within Teams and Forums discussion threads
  • Increasing the time between community sign-in requests
  • Improvements to Etsy Teams functionality, including features for team leaders
  • Following the migration to Etsy’s new community spaces, members who are muted in the Forums are currently unable to post in Etsy Team discussion boards. We are actively reviewing this change and will get back to you with an update as soon as possible.
