Etsy Updates: 5 things to know for July 2024

Welcome to our monthly roundup of Etsy updates and community highlights that you don’t want to miss…

1. A message from our CEO, Josh Silverman
Earlier this month, Etsy’s CEO announced a series of important updates that aim to protect and strengthen the magic of Etsy. These included clarifying our policies, elevating the shopping experience, and enhancing how Etsy shows up in the world. Make sure to check out the full video and Forums post here.

2. Spotlighting you, the heart of our marketplace

We’re putting Etsy sellers front and center in our latest marketing campaign and refreshed homepage experience currently available for signed-out users in the US and UK. We’re turning the volume up loud to show the world how sellers like you make commerce better by keeping commerce human. In the U.S. and U.K., you’ll see real Etsy sellers on billboards and across social media, demonstrating the many different ways that you make, design, and handpick your items.

Head over to our @EtsySuccess Instagram page and check out our “Made by” Story Highlight to unlock our custom template. Use it to create your own unique version of our new seller ad and share it to your Instagram Story. Plus, get inspired by some beautiful examples from other sellers putting the templates to use!

You’ll also find four new Case Studies over on the Seller Handbook, with experienced sellers sharing firsthand how they’re tackling the challenges of running a small business and growing their shops.

3. Mark your calendars

4. Sharing your experiences live

Leaders from the Etsy community and communications teams Kelly Clausen and Sarah Marx Calabrese joined Trust & Safety leaders Alice Wu Paulus and Claudia Pfalzer and Director of Marketplace Policy, Sophie Duba for a meet-and-greet with some of our Bay Area sellers. We heard from these entrepreneurs about their experiences on Etsy, their business journeys and how Etsy can help them grow. We’re excited to engage with you in new ways this year, including more face-to-face meetings around the world!
