Monday, October 31 through Friday, November 4 will be EtSEO Week here in the Etsy Community. What does that mean? We’ll be sharing tons of search engine optimization (SEO) tips and insights across our community and social channels. We’ll cover both Etsy and Google SEO to help you prep your listings for holiday discovery!
This will be the biggest EtSEO event we’ve ever hosted. In addition to holiday listing critiques from Etsy staff here in the Forums, we’ll share SEO tips on our Etsy Success social media channels, host live listing critiques on Instagram, and Etsy experts will lead deep-dive virtual workshops in our Seller Events space. Below is a quick look at everything we have planned for the week:
Monday October 31
- 9:00am ET: Our Forums thread where you can submit your listings for a critique goes live. It will be open for 24 hours. Be sure to share the listings you want critiqued there before 9:00am ET on Tuesday November 1.
- 6:00pm ET: We’ll select three listings from that thread for a live listing critique on the @EtsySuccess Instagram
Tuesday November 1
- Listing critiques in the Forums throughout the day
Wednesday November 2
- Listing critiques in the Forums throughout the day
Thursday November 3
- Listing critiques in the Forums throughout the day

If you’ve never participated in an EtSEO listing critique in the Forums before, here’s the inside scoop on how it works:
- Thread is posted: On October 31, we’ll post a thread here in the Forums calling for listing critique submissions. It will be featured on the Community homepage and also pinned to the top of the Shop Critiques section.
- Share your listing: If you want search optimization feedback on one of your listings, respond to the thread with a link to the listing you want critiqued. You can only share one listing from your shop, so choose wisely. The thread will be open for 24 hours, from 9:00am ET on Monday, October 31 to 9:00am ET on Tuesday, November 1, so be sure to log on and share your listing that day.
- A quick note: Be sure to post the link to your listing as a reply to the thread, not a comment within a thread. Listings that are posted as nested replies won’t be reviewed.
- Etsy staff will share their personalized tips: On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of that week, Etsy staff (with help from some shop optimization specialists) will review your listing and offer personalized tips focused on things like keywords, photography, and tips for boosting your listing’s conversion rate.
- We’ll review listings to ensure they follow Etsy’s House Rules and then select listings randomly for critique.
- Thoughtful critiques take time to write, so we won’t be able to critique every listing that is shared.
- Etsy staff from across the company will be critiquing listings. They’ll share their role and title in their comments. While they may not be SEO experts, they’ll be getting support from a team of search optimization pros.
- Thread is closed: We’ll share as many listing critiques as we can throughout the week. On Friday, we’ll close the thread.
Bonus: In addition to the three days of listing critiques happening here in the Forums, we’ll also randomly select three listings from the thread to critique live on the Etsy Success Instagram. Even if your listing isn’t selected to be critiqued, the tips shared may offer inspiration for improving your own listings—so be sure to tune in at the times listed above. We’ll also post the videos to the Etsy Success Instagram after the live, so you can watch them again later.
