Something came on my radar screen on another team that I'd like to share with you and see what you think.
Richie Pepplin is working on this new tool specifically for Etsy sellers called Marmalead and asked the members of the other team to try it and comment. So off I went, all green and wet behind the ears as I most definetely am (in terms of Etsy, unfortunately not in person ;-)) and, boy, oh boy! Although I can't claim to be an expert, this really got my juices going.
You register (no other details apart from name, e-mail address and password) and then you search with the tags you use for your listings. Up come total and average/week views and favourites; max, min and average price and total number of competitors.
A few photos illustrating the category and then you find the price spread, the price/views and the price/favourites tables.
Then you have the top 100 listings in the category with plenty of info for each of them (I was ever so chuffed to find some of my listings under all the main tags I work with - some at the very bottom and some at the very top - but there any way, I say while I pat myself on the back) and then a breakdown of the actual tags used on the searches and their hits.
I think it will really save you hours of research as it claims on its front page!
I checked with Richie beforehand to see if it'd be OK to share this with you guys and he says he will be more than pleased to hear from any of you with suggestions and/or criticism as the site is still under construction, so here it is:
www.marmalead.com
He also said to go ahead and share it with any other team you wish to. (Do check with your teams' captain and leaders first!)
Please let us all know what you think!
