I just got an email from Market Collective and it looks like Market Collective might only be allowed to run ONE weekend in December, not the 3 they had planned for.
Please help out if you can!

This week a decision has been made by the Calgary Parking Authority to limit the use of the MC at the Ant Hill Space. We were given permission to run Market Collective for three dates in December, but because of complaints from the Kensington Business Revitalization Zone, the CPA has asked us to choose one date to operate. Given the last minute nature of this decision, we have decided that we are going to stand up against this and push to have this decision changed.
We have different artists, musicians, and community organizations lined up for each weekend, and feel that it is unacceptable to have to cancel two weekends. Not only is Market Collective a community event, but we also take very seriously the role of community development and are a strong advocate for artists, musicians and community organizations. We have approximately 200 artists who have invested their time, energy and resources into preparing their work for December, and it is very important to us to provide the space for them to sell their work in December. Furthermore, Calgary has been named Cultural Capital of the Year for 2012, and it would be great to go out of the year with a celebration of the arts, not the suppression of them.
Remember to be respectful. We want to treat this with an attitude of growth and change rather that anger and resentment.
