Craft Fair Table Rates??

Hi guys!

A friend of mine is organizing a craft show in November at a community hall here in Calgary. She is hoping to charge $60 for a table which seems like it might be a touch high to me..?

Can anyone tell me what the average/going rate for a craft fair table is these days?

I would really appreciate your input/advice---thanks!!

Re: Craft Fair Table Rates??

It would depend on the table 6 or 8 feet and if the show is 1 or 2 days. $60 is a little high in my opinion but it depends on a lot of factors, like how well will it be advertised? what kinda of track record of craft shows at this location etc. If you paying that much I would expect very good advertising and a 8 foot table with a lot of space in front and back. I am doing a craft show out in the country and it s$21 per table for a 6 foot table, but I would expect to pay a bit more in a larger center like Calgary.

Re: Craft Fair Table Rates??

That sounds a little high. I've done craft fairs with 6ft tables ranging in cost from $15 to $70. The $70 was the worst one. Lots of traffic as it was held near a public library, but not many sales for the vendors.

Re: Craft Fair Table Rates??

I've paid anywhere from $25-$85 over the past year. The $85 one is the upcoming MarketSquare in Okotoks. The fee is high but there is a ton of advertising and I made back over and above the fee last year so it was worth it.

Re: Craft Fair Table Rates??

I was doing some research on community hall craft fair table prices earlier this month and they were all either $25.00 or $40.00. I didn't see any that were higher. The markets tend to charge more, but they get more foot-traffic than the community hall ones and do more advertising for individual sellers.

Meanwhile, I'm interested in what she's organizing, tell her to convo me with details if she gets it up and running! :)

Re: Craft Fair Table Rates??

I've only seen $30-$45 tables in the Calgary/Cochrane area. If it was a 2 day event $60 is reasonable.

I'm interested in getting a table there if she could lower the price a bit!

There's a Christmas market in Cochrane that has tables for $100 but the venue is a formal event hall (usually for weddings) and the event has lots of advertising that is paid for from that.

Re: Craft Fair Table Rates??

I've paid anything from $30 - $100 for craft sales/shows. Farmers markets are usually $50 for a 10x10 booth. The $30 shows I don't expect a lot from them...$100 shows I assume they do a lot of advertisement.
