Yes, Halloween is pretty uneventful here too. We only ever get one kid; John's niece. The joys of living out in the bush on a dead end road! :)

Halloween was very busy here... The first wave of kids consisted of all the little ones (and their parents) in the area; so cute, and so very brave going up to the door and trying to say "trick or treat." (Except our direct neighbours, they were very cute and very bold and very excited. The little boy had severe nut allergies, so he isn't allowed to collect candy on Halloween, expect from us and a few specific others than know about the allergies. He was so excited that we had a special bowl of candy just for him to choose from!)

Next were the "brave ones;" the school kids that think they are so cool, and know all about going door to door, you know....the ones that mom and/or dad still go around with, but that the kids think it is so lame that the parents are there. So the kids come to the door, pretending they are on their own, while the group of moms follow along with their coffee go-cups, smiling and waving to other groups of parents out doing the same thing.

Then came the kids that were actually old enough and wise enough to go out in a group together without parents following along. Most of them we know on a first name basis. You could tell that they decided at the last minute to go out, didn't really have a costume, but still try to dress up some way. Too funny.

At our house, we give out glow sticks as well as candy. Goes back to me seeing too many kids out in dark costumes and too excited to pay attention crossing streets and coming too close to almost getting hurt... Of course, adding glow sticks to the mix slows everyone down at our house while they stop and put them on, each trying to find creative ways to be cool. (The little ones are my favourites, they get so excited and fixated with the bright colours and the glowing effect. They are magic!)

So...Halloween seemed to go ok...until my husband made the mistake of letting the dogs out of the back room (after we turned out the porch lights for the night). One of the boys has a very good nose (he would have been a great hunting dog), and he managed to find the hidden bowl of treats with the peanut m&m's in it. Before we realized that he was "missing" and off some where in the house getting in trouble, he managed to eat 18 peanut m$m, paper wrappers and all. A call to the overnight emergency vet let us know it might not be a very fun evening. Because of his size (60 pounds) and that he had just consumed his dinner, the vet didn't believe 18 m&m's would cause serious illness (or worse), but the vet did predict a very upset tummy over night. Well....whining, crying, vomiting, and a gurgling tummy kept us up all night. He's doing much better this morning, although still not interested in eating. He's finally napping quietly now, so I think we're over the worst of it. (I'm still giving the husband frustrated scowls for leaving the candy sitting out, but even that is passing...)

So....the fortune cookie is right...I live in interesting times...

Can I just say, yay to daylight savings and getting an extra hour of sleep. :)

Time flies though. How is everyone doing with holiday prep work for upcoming shows?

Though I love the extra hour of sleep, I'd love to see Daylight Savings get abolished in Alberta. I'd rather just carry on & not have to try and readjust twice a year. I think the spring one gets me worse, just when it's light in the morning, we adjust the clocks and it's dark again. So sad!

Oh ya a whole 3 kids to our door..about average

Have a query if any one can answer
sold and renewed a keychain listing it is on my etsy bill as transaction and renew and sold in sales on FP but in my listing manager it is not listed as sold under my sold out status column.
Just curious if it gets bumped somehow if you use the renew option..
TIA

I second (5th?) abolishing the time change. I'm not a fan of the schedule switch either way.

I'm in for abolishing time change. It upsets my internal clock and the pets get up when they are hungry and this morning it was 5:30... so the "extra hour" was a waste.

It was my birthday weekend so I feel like I've eaten out all weekend. Interestingly, no birthday cake (or even birthday ice cream cake) this year. Although I'm too stuffed to eat any, I'm kinda missing the frosting...

No creative time this weekend - booh. Maybe I'll get in a little during the week.
