We are a group of active and supportive Etsy shop owners that are willing to help each other by giving constructive advice, favoriting/liking each other’s shops and listings to get more views, and following each other social media. All members must be willing to commit to participating in discussions threads at least once a month and be willing to help each other by following/liking other members shops. Congrats on your grand opening!! Since you just opened your shop, it might take a little trial and error to see what works for you and time to see which route is best.

Hi everyone, I have been around for about 4 months now. I have purchased ads on fb. Also linked to Instagram but so far NO SALES.
It gets very frustrating. I do crochet and get told I have nice things. I don't know what else to do. When I first opened my shop a lady told me it took 2 years for her to sell something. Th at is a long time to wait. I noticed now that her shop no longer exist, she must have given up.it can become quite expensive to dish out dollars for advertising if there are none coming in.
I also noticed that jewelry sells better, and certain other things, however I'm not clever enough to make that.So I just hang in there and hope next fall will be better. Crochet clothing is a winter item actually.

I think your pricing is fine, jewelry is a pretty over saturated item on Etsy so it might take a bit to get noticed. But keep at it and I'm sure you'll get more exposure and ultimately, sales!

Hey Mady,
Don't despair! I'm in no way an expert myself yet however, this is what I would do. I'd turn off advertising for now (since it seems like it costing you more money than your making) and focus on getting your shop into tip top shape. I really love your baby dresses and booties, I think they're really super cute! I think you just need to try to showcase them in a better light. You don't need expensive camera equipment to do that, just your camera phone could work with some light editing, they have some amazing free apps out there that can help you touch up your photos. Most important thing, is to try to use natural light so you don't get harsh shadows in your pictures.
Second, try to expand a bit more in your product descriptions, maybe a little bit about the process of how your make them.
I think that's a good place to start!

Also, I will actually go into the Etsy marketplace and start typing in something to see what is most searched. I.e. If I start typing in "shirts" the top suggestion that comes up is "shirts with sayings" so I'll make sure to include that in my tags.
If you're not on social media try to get on it asap! It's another good outlet to get your brand noticed. Hope this helps!
