I'll start... I offered a store wide 25% off GRAND OPENING SALE for about 1 month after opening my store.

The good: Since it was a store wide sale, it showed up on all my Easy listings, which did help drive customers to my shop. I made my first several sales this way.

I also offered a FREE SHIPPING SALE on select large ticketed items. This brought on my first $60+ sale.

I'm trying a new sale through mid-March: BUY 3, SHIP FREE. I'm also offering a 10% off coupon (sent by email) to customers upon purchasing an item.

We'll see if any of my 2 new sales work!

I wonder if anyone else has a success story? Any Social Media promo success stories?

I offer 10% off my mobiles if customers purchase any item from my shop once, I've had 1 return customer so far.

I also have a Friends and Family coupon that offers a 15% off any item, I haven't given it to much people yet.. so we'll see how it goes.

No, I don't think it's too late to have a Grand Opening Sale. You are a new store after all.

I like tha Friends and Family sale. Great idea. I think I will do that as well. :)

I know this is a stupid question but how do you even put your listings for sale?

Not a stupid question! From your desktop under the “Shop Manager” task bar, click on the the “Marketing” then click on “Sales and Coupons”. It doesn’t appear that you can use your phone or tablet to access the sales function.

That’s a great idea Anna Grand opening Sale! I’ll have to do that. Has anyone been doing any advertising on google? I've just set up tonight for some of my listings.

I ran my GRAND OPENING sale about 6 weeks. I’m sure you could run it longer, if you see it’s helping to attract business. The nice thing is that it shows up on your Etsy listings when potential customers are doing a search. And people likes clicking on listings that are running discounts!

As for adding "Sales" to your tags and title... That's a really good question! An article by Etsy says it's a great idea to share your sale(s) and promos on social media. It says nothing about needing to update your tags or title. While there's no need to change the title and tag, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to make the change to one or two of your listings -- just to test drive the idea.

As with all marketing and sales, there's a lot of trial and error. See what works for you. Use what works and toss out what doesn't.

I've used google promote for select items as well, and have made some sales through google. I think it's a great feature. I just strongly suggest you start off with budgeting only a small amount of money each day, and choose which items you promote wisely.

Google promote offers great features to view how many click throughs you received, how many people purchased an item after clicking a google ad, and what your profit versus fees are. This allow you to make changes to your advertising.

You’re welcome. I would say that’s a personal choice based on how what the profit margin is on your items and how much it costs to ship each items. Etsy allows you to only put select items on sale, create sales based on quantity and/or cost.

Hey Jill, you’ll have to jump on the computer for that. Go to shop manager - marketing - sales and coupons. From there you should see an orange button that says +New special offer and you can just go from there.

Results from my first day of Grand Opening Sale! I got 2 sales that were driven straight from the sale. That is huge for me, I never got 2 sales in one day before. I've been averaging about one a week. I'm excited for the next few weeks! This was a wonderful idea, thank you so much Anna!
