Hello, It needs to be wrapped very well, lots of bubble wrap. Also, you can put an X (with tape) on the glass so it won't break. It is good to turn the face of the painting away from the glass as well, becuase if the glass should break, it can scratch the painting. Lastly, put some cardboard on either side and then lots of  strong tape. Some even go as far to put the painting in a box, within a bigger box.  Always get insurance and take a picture of the painting before it is wrapped and after. Good luck!

Some of the boxes they sell at UPS/Fed Ex are way too big for some of the pieces, adding cost to the box plus the shipping so I personally buy moving boxes from Home Depot (like $2.50 for an extra large), split them open and fashion my own boxes from those.

If I read your question correctly, it states an acrylic painting on canvass which would rule out having to worry about glass. I assume this is not a framed print but a painting.

May I suggest you do a search on You-Tube using how to ship a painting. There are many videos, done by professional framers and artists alike that show very good methods for accomplishing what you ask.

Do not put bubble wrap against the painting surface. It will leave round spots. The use or corner braces and what is called a one piece folder with extra cardboard sheets. Depending on the size of the finished painting, you may consider using a telescoping box that is used for TV's.

In any case watch a few of those video's and you will come out with a claer method for how you want to do it. We ship artwork of all kinds and have our method worked out.

Good luck...
