Hi everyone. I got the chat started on time this week. Amazing, I know.

Remember that every Monday is RAK (Random Act of Kindness) day. Do something for a team mate. It could be a shop fave or a page fave, make a treasury, or just send a note of cheer to someone who's having health issues. We support our team mates and promote their shops.

Be sure to take part in the games, as this helps to promote your own shop as well as others. Remember to Read the Rules if you're not sure what to do.

This thread is private, so you can talk about whatever you'd like. A personal or shop issue, sales or ask questions. We all help one another any way we can.

I have my Christmas shopping about wrapped up. How about you? That would be a nice subject for a discussion.

Have a wonderful week and happy sales.

Re: Weekly Chat November 30th to December 7th

With even less space than you seem to have, Mary I've rather given up baking and cooking these days. Not much fun just for one, and in any case having had to make EVERYTHING from scratch (bread, jams, chutneys etc) while Peter was alive, now I don't have to worry, I tend to just buy veg and fresh meats (am definitely a carnivore) and make batches of everything mixed together and then add flavourings (spices, rice, cous cous etc) and that means just cooking once a week, and re-heating the main ingredients!! Thank goodness for microwaves! Peter couldn't take anything with bleach in (refined sugar, flour for example) and was terribly allergic to iodine/iodised stuff! With diabetes on top of all that, and the fibromyalgia as well, it could be quite tricky to find stuff he could safely eat. Whilst I enjoy cakes and sweets, I can live without them, so I don't go in for them very much either - although am always happy to act as taste-tester or guinea pig if needed.

My word, being on this team is medically educational! Am so sorry for you folks with your various conditions, many of which I've never heard of, let alone met people who suffer with them. Believe me, you're all in my prayers that something, or someone, will come up with ways and means to ease your painful existence. Thank goodness, with all my strength - and touching wood and every other charm - so far, apart from osteo arthritis in my hands and lower back, my health is good. Long may that continue - the last thing I want is to become a nuisance for Clare and Philippa.

Here's the last but one blog post from us before Christmas, and it may be the last one until after the festivities are over: enjoy!

I'm going to be away from base from 18-28th December, although the computer will be coming with me. Am taking some sewing to do in the evenings, and will probably be on line at some point in the day, but don't want to tie myself down.

Got a UK-based order in last night, which I hope to ship mid-week, and am grateful that the sales appear to have picked up in the last few weeks. Perhaps the Hedgehog activity on Etsy, has brought more views to the Shop, and resulted in better sales activities! Whatever, I'm grateful, although I'll never reach Kitty's whopping results.

Glad you've got a date, Alanna. Good way to begin a New Year too. Wishing you well, and I'd suggest that they'll be having you up just as soon as you come round. Hospitals these days are very wary of blood clots, which can occur after surgery, and tend to have you moving - with aids - as soon as possible. The physiotherapy WORK comes later.
Enjoy reading you Kindle.

Kristi - have hearted etc. the Treasury you posted earlier. Lovely choices - do like art deco design.

Isobel, Enjoy your vacation and the holidays. I wasn't looking forward to Christmas without the grandsons, but looks like it's going to turn out well after all. It will be quiet without them, for sure, but we will see them Christmas Eve for a while. In the meantime, I've been doing RAKs for homeless and that is leaving me with a great feeling.

Isobell - our stores are so different you really can't compare. I make smaller, cheaper items that I can produce in batches. You make items that take probably hours or days and are a real treasure!

I am in the kitchen today making a bunch of soaps and other items including famine products for a local shelter. Hopefully I can finish them up tomorrow. The soap smells amazing!

Re: Weekly Chat November 30th to December 7th

Marion- I slept from 8am-3pm :) I hate insomnia!!!!!! It's been raining here since yesterday so it's been gloomy. My therapy dog hates the rain lol. He sure loves the snow though!

Mary- I wished I could bake. I LOVE desserts a lot!!! That's a lot of dippin you did!

Isobel- Good for you on the sale!!! And enjoy your vacation :)

Kitty- You are right about the differences in stores and people's sales! I sure couldn't make 500 cross stitch items in a day let alone a week lol!
I'm trying to think of some creative ways to put in custom listings that are generic in nature because I have people looking for baby cross stitch items, wedding cross stitch etc and if they don't find the right "theme" in my store, I am willing to find one for that person to make what they would like. I just don't know how to word my generic listings. I need some creative ideas :)

Even though I am sick and some of you are sick, I feel very much at home here! And you are correct Isobel on making dinners for 1 person. I just buy little items and throw them together lol. But since I can't eat very well right now, I have to stick to yogurt, applesauce, pudding and other soft items. I have really bad gastroparesis, which means my stomach doesn't digest the food and so you puke it back up in the matter of hours because it just sits there in your stomach. It's really gross. I hate vomiting! But I take Zofran and Marinol (synthetic weed but just the THC part) I only take the Marinol at night though because it will make you high lol. But it takes away the pain too so killing 2 birds with 1 stone!

Happy Sales!
