With even less space than you seem to have, Mary I've rather given up baking and cooking these days. Not much fun just for one, and in any case having had to make EVERYTHING from scratch (bread, jams, chutneys etc) while Peter was alive, now I don't have to worry, I tend to just buy veg and fresh meats (am definitely a carnivore) and make batches of everything mixed together and then add flavourings (spices, rice, cous cous etc) and that means just cooking once a week, and re-heating the main ingredients!! Thank goodness for microwaves! Peter couldn't take anything with bleach in (refined sugar, flour for example) and was terribly allergic to iodine/iodised stuff! With diabetes on top of all that, and the fibromyalgia as well, it could be quite tricky to find stuff he could safely eat. Whilst I enjoy cakes and sweets, I can live without them, so I don't go in for them very much either - although am always happy to act as taste-tester or guinea pig if needed.
My word, being on this team is medically educational! Am so sorry for you folks with your various conditions, many of which I've never heard of, let alone met people who suffer with them. Believe me, you're all in my prayers that something, or someone, will come up with ways and means to ease your painful existence. Thank goodness, with all my strength - and touching wood and every other charm - so far, apart from osteo arthritis in my hands and lower back, my health is good. Long may that continue - the last thing I want is to become a nuisance for Clare and Philippa.
Here's the last but one blog post from us before Christmas, and it may be the last one until after the festivities are over: enjoy!
http://coldhamcuddliescalling.blogspot.co.uk/I'm going to be away from base from 18-28th December, although the computer will be coming with me. Am taking some sewing to do in the evenings, and will probably be on line at some point in the day, but don't want to tie myself down.
Got a UK-based order in last night, which I hope to ship mid-week, and am grateful that the sales appear to have picked up in the last few weeks. Perhaps the Hedgehog activity on Etsy, has brought more views to the Shop, and resulted in better sales activities! Whatever, I'm grateful, although I'll never reach Kitty's whopping results.
Glad you've got a date, Alanna. Good way to begin a New Year too. Wishing you well, and I'd suggest that they'll be having you up just as soon as you come round. Hospitals these days are very wary of blood clots, which can occur after surgery, and tend to have you moving - with aids - as soon as possible. The physiotherapy WORK comes later.
Enjoy reading you Kindle.
Kristi - have hearted etc. the Treasury you posted earlier. Lovely choices - do like art deco design.
