Hi everyone. I got the chat started on time this week. Amazing, I know.

Remember that every Monday is RAK (Random Act of Kindness) day. Do something for a team mate. It could be a shop fave or a page fave, make a treasury, or just send a note of cheer to someone who's having health issues. We support our team mates and promote their shops.

Be sure to take part in the games, as this helps to promote your own shop as well as others. Remember to Read the Rules if you're not sure what to do.

This thread is private, so you can talk about whatever you'd like. A personal or shop issue, sales or ask questions. We all help one another any way we can.

Kristi - I have been around for quite some time,but got caught up with family medical matters and other stuff which caused my participation to slow down quite a bit. I still drop in as often as I could. Hope you enjoy this team, we have a bunch of helpful, friendly folks on board.

Kitty - Don't know how you do it, but I understand the sales helping with medical bills. The sales actually help with a lot of different things.

I'm waiting for her response. I'm still at the Dr's office. If she doesn't respond back then I will just ship it after this appointment. I talked to her 1 hour ago and just sent another message to her in regards to a decision. What do I do if she keeps me waiting?

Kitty- I need to make some policies in regards to custom orders. Idk why I don't have that in my policy section. I will do it when I get home.

I just had a first. A letter from a local hospital, I was expecting a bill and as always I take a pause before opening it and tell my self it will be fine... Well today it contained an invoice as always but attached to it was a check, I had overpaid. I almost want to frame it, a check from a hospital, who would have thought that was a thing!

Isobel, congrats on the sale of a Daddy Hedgehog! Do you have business cards, and did you give her one?

Here's a question for the group: do you have business cards and if so, how do you use them? I have them, and enclose one in every package sent out. I also carry a small supply with me in a business card holder to hand out to just about anyone.

Planning on taking books to the local library today. We have three large bags filled with paperbacks, and several coffee-table books to go as well. It will mean several trips up and down the stairs, which is bad for the knee, but oh well. I've got to see if I can get ahold of the surgeon I saw to see if it's okay to get another steroid shot to control the pain, which is getting more painful with the colder weather. Of course, this week and into next we're supposed to have temps in the low-to-high 60's! Huzzah! Maybe the relatively high temps will last the winter, lol! I wish.

Alanna- I do have business cards and I do the same as you do. Put in each package and keep some on me in case I feel like passing them out. I'm having issues with my right knee. All I hear is crunch, crunch, crunch when I bend it. But my patella (knee cap) seems to be popping in and out of place, which is normal for us EDS'ers. But it hurts!!

Hoping all of you will check out my new treasury and tweet or pin it. I would love that!

Kristi, I hear you about your right knee. Maybe you should get an MRI, see if anything else is happening in there, like osteoarthritis, which I have.


I finally got a call from the VA Orthopedics department this morning. They assured me that they have all the info they need. They also said there is one opening in December, and 2 in January. So I hope to hear soon. It's somewhat limited, because the doctor only does surgery on Wednesdays.

If they called me and said they'd do the surgery next Wednesday, I'd jump at it. Ditto the 23rd. I am not a Christian, so I don't celebrate Christmas. For our newcomers' information, I am Wiccan, and so celebrate Yule on the Winter Solstice, which this year I believe is on the 22nd.

Did you know it's full moon night on the 25th. Now what we need is a couple of inches of snow, and it would be a picture perfect Christ's Mass.

Finally took three huge bags of paperbacks and two armfuls worth of oversize hardbacks to the library. Now I need to get a few things to storage tomorrow, and then the dining room table will be free to receive the knick knacks I'm donating to Goodwill. I hope to get my bookcases, which are currently in front of Pam's bookcases, out of the living room and into my bedroom before I go into the hospital. That will complete the rearrangement of the apartment. Huzzah! One step at a time, it's getting done.

When a customer orders a custom order, she does indeed, enter into a contract. Just ship it out and get a tracking number and a receipt for postage.

Hope everyone has a great day today. Yesterday I made 17 dozen chocolate centers. Today is probably dipping them in chocolate. Its a big job but love it and give a lot away.

Mary that sounds deliciously bad for one!! My word that's a helluva lot of chocolate centres to make all at one time. You must have oceans of storage space in your kitchen!!!

Alanna do hope you get your December slot - and get the op over and start the rehab process. Well done getting all the flat arranged the way you'd planned too - and without too much extra pain for yourself in the process.

Kristy Jo - have indulged my addiction to Treasuries, and given yours "the treatment" So lovely to meet so many new Etsy folk at the same time.

My administrative wings are sprouting! Got all my UK cards (40 of them) ready for posting yesterday atfernoon/evening (getting to bed at past midnight - and rewarded myself with an extra half hour in bed by not getting up until 0700). All posted today, and of course, found some folk I'd missed! Had to buy more cards, of course, but they should do for the residents and local friends as well!

Then this afternoon, after a lot of fiddle-faddling with government websites etc., managed to fill in and complete my self-assessment tax form. Wanted to get that over and done with before Christmas. Not that the tax man will really be interested in the 82.00 profit I made over the year, but nevertheless, if I hadn't done it, I'd have been fined £100.00 and then some for every day it had not been completed! So, that's DEFINITELY a job well done.

Now, this evening, after my meal, I'll have a table free to cut out more Hedgehogs, and other Cuddlies, for me to take away with me next Friday when I go south for Christmas. Also gives me something to sew while watching the week-end TV programmes!!

Today's been nice and quiet on etsy only two orders so it's allowing me to play catch up with the 40 waiting to ship. The post office has done well out of me this month!

I got my operation date!! December 30th, around noon. And of course I have to be NPO the whole day, except for a sip of water to take my meds. So I'll be in the hospital for New Years! Huzzah!

Kitty, I swear you're going to make 1,000 orders before New Year's Day!

I have got to make a list of everything I need to do before the surgery. I'm only taking my Kindle into the hospital, along with my charger and extension cord. That's so I can read if I feel up to it. I'm leaving my dentures at home, although I'll bring them when I go into the rehab facility, which is in northern Baltimore.

Can you tell I'm excited, lol?

Isobel- I just started getting into making the treasuries. I had made a couple in the past but I'm kind of liking the business it gives me so I'm going to try to make 1 everyday.

Kitty & Mary- I did send the package because she never responded back. I'm just trying to think of some good wording to put in my policy section about custom orders.

Alanna- YAY! Are you having a total knee done? If so, I heard recovery goes fairly well and they get you up and walking right away and then into physical therapy. I got the results of my biopsies back today and I have a new disease called Dercum's Disease. It's where you basically get lipomas or benign fatty tumors everywhere and they hurt. The only treatment for this disease is liposuction. I have lipomas on my biceps and in the creases of the inside of my arms and armpits.....they are everywhere. I just don't want them to start intertwining with the nerves etc because that is going to hurt. So yay me for having another condition that you can't treat :( I have been getting 1 sale per day this month which has caught me off guard because I'm used to getting maybe 3 sales per month. So that makes me happy :) Have a good Friday evening :)

Kristi, yes, I'm having a total knee replacement. I don't know whether they'll try to get me up and running while I'm still in the hospital, which is only three days, or wait until I'm in the rehab facility. I'm going to a pre-op briefing where hopefully they will fill me in on what to expect, both during and after the surgery.

I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. What a dreadful thing to have to live with! You and my sister ought to exchange emails. She has multiple difficult diseases as well, and has had 42 surgeries. She's 58, and faces at least five more sugeries (minor ones, fortunately) this coming year. She's holding off until my surgery is done, since mine is more complex than hers, and will take a longer time to heal.

I wish you well and hope you'll be able to overcome such obstacles as life has put in you path. Namaste.

Isobel - Great job on the taxes. It is out of the way. Now you can concentrate on the Hogs.

Alanna - You will continue to be in my prayers for a successful surgery and quick recovery.

Kitty - Your sales have slowed down, but I agree with Alanna, you will reach 1000 sales before years end. Hooray!

Today I have some consolidating of storage spaces. Have been helping my daughter for the past 3 weekends getting her house ready for renting, donating furniture, etc. and cleaning out 2 storage units to hopefully get everything in one.

Well, the storage project is done. We got quite a bit of stuff to fit into a
5 x 5 storage unit. It was a job and we had to trash a lot of things, but we did it. So now on to the next project. With children, there is always something happening and I am glad to be a part of it.

I don't have much of an energy level but today I had a burst and so I separated and organized my beads and it took almost 7 hours lol! But at least it's done and over with and I know where everything is now! I will be making lots of jewelry once I get done with this small cross stitch custom order :)

ISOBEL, I have no storage space in my kitchen. I put them all in tupperware/plastic containers. I took Mom some yesterday and will take my daughter and her family some today. Some are going to the homeless shelter, the neighbours will get some. Most will be given away since I can't have even one.

It took me only 3 hours to dip 17 dozen chocolates. I'm getting good at it.
