Hey gang with the majority of responsibility firmly placed back on my shoulders I have decided to turn our daily chat into a weekly chat, Monday's will still be RAK days but other then that we will be free styling since I have no free time right now, Come here to get to know your fellow sellers that is how I built myself up to nearly 600 vintage sales! Ask Questions, post you NEW items and just in general let us know who you are and let us really get to know you!

Hello.
If you look there <-----
You will note that I stopped hiding behind an avatar. I am all there in my wedding gear glory.

Anyhow, the place where I am not often there is chatting here, Huh?

Anyway, that said, Chris, that decision is not only better for you and the admin, it is better (I talk for me but it seems I am not alone thinking it) for many artist as well.

I know we have to be present, but looking at it like I look at it right now, if being present online mean slowing the production and, long term, having no reason at all to be present because the mini-mini business had gone belly up or your health gone belly up or you turned insane or something, cracking under pressure... Hmmm.. nah.

Anyhow, I am continuing my preparation for the Evergreen. Too bad I know no one in this team that live anywhere close to me BUT in case you guys are *touristing* or do live out here... hey, come and say hi and tell me you are on the team... And if you like hug, you have one in reserve, so ask for it. Yeah, in my culture we are hugger. No gender excluded... but you have to ask. ;-)

I am doing SEO lately... headache!

So sorry, not many heart flying at the moment at your stuff...
I will avenge myself when I am back from the show...

See you.

Hi Team, I like the new chat set up.

I am back in town from a vacation in Glasgow and Edinburgh, Scotland. The history and culture is amazing and very interesting.

Alanna - I see your troubles continue and with Pam as well. My goodness, prayers are being offered up for you both. It has been a long run for you.

Isobel - I enjoy reading your posts and blogs.

Eejee good to put a face to the name and glad to have you back.

Now I must play catch up, get back in the game and get my shop in shape. Lots to do but I will be in touch.

Morning all, just quickly stopping by to say I am here just having a rather prolonged flare up. My body doesn't seem to understand that there is work to be done.

Hope all is well x

Hi All,

Nice to check in and hear all about your goings on. I find it interesting that Justin Trudeau knocked out the Conservative PM. I will wait and see how it all goes.

Isobel, best of luck with the adoption. It sounds like your grandson has found the right home. My one daughter had very high fevers with teething. One question: regarding curating, what is "the brittany version of how to do them"?

Best of luck, Kitty.

Have a great day

Donna, well, the PM wanna be has already contacted Obama that Canada is with drawing fighter jets from Iraq, Syria. He feels ISIS is not a threat. I hate to see our military in harm's way but to me ISIS is a very real thread and they have already warned Canada of attacks forthcoming.

A year ago today, a young reservist in Ontario was killed while protecting the Veteran's Memorial in Ottawa. We shall see what this means for our country. Basically, it scares me to death. Justin has his head in the clouds.

Re: Weekly Chat Cafe' 10/11/2015 - 10/18/2015

Just stopping in. Best Buy came to take away our old TV yesterday, and couldn't get it down the hallway because of the bookcases we have there. So now we have to remove all the books and knick knacks on all 3 of the bookcases, then move the bookcases themselves. It's a major PITA. It'll take several days to accomplish this, and then of course we'll have to put everything back. I also want to rearrange some of the living room furniture. I'll do it a little at a time.

Pam has come down with bronchitis, on top of everything else. She's doing better than on Monday, when she first came down with it. In fact, tonight she and a couple of friends are going to the International Horse Show in downtown DC. She's staying overnight with one of the friends, and I'll pick her up tomorrow morning.

Alanna, if Pam has bronchitis, get her some camphorated oil. That helps a lot. So does ginger root tea, or you can make it with powdered ginger.

Re: Weekly Chat Cafe' 10/11/2015 - 10/18/2015

Sorry to have been missing for a day or two, and it's really great to see folks drifting back again. Thought it would happen, and just hope the trend continues.

Been busy with the Hedgehog campaign, which has moved forward a bit. Contact made with the fabric supplier, who initially was a bit sniffy and said they were wholesalers and only dealt with "trade". Equally sniffly, I emailed back saying that I was treated as trade already by wholesalers of equal size as them, and today, they've come back and said that I'm welcome to sign up as a trade customer!!!!! So, will do so over the week-end, because this new lot have a minimum order of 0.5 metres, whereas most of the others I deal with it's a 1.0 metre minimum. Can get quite a lot of Hedgehogs out of half a metre, although, depending on price, i may go the whole hog (pardon the pun) and get a full one. Now I want to be able to match the fabric as nearly as possible. They obviously don't want me visiting in person: I equally want to have a sniff around, if possible!! Anyway, think they've got the message that I don't go away.

Still waiting to hear from the local sanctuary if they want to be involved. Hope I can establish contact over the week-end: otherwise, I've decided I shall approach the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust (who are always looking for funds for their work), and see if they'd be prepared to put anything I raise towards helping hedgehogs, rather than into their particular melting pot.

Oh, and yesterday, one of the Baby Hedgehogs got adopted at the mini-craft fair I displayed some Cuddlies at, so that's the first 10% towards the fund, even before I officially get the thing off and running. Am planning on involving the local print and broadcast media too if I can.

Will be going into the nitty gritty of things on the blog once a week from now on.

Young grandson almost walked when I was watching him this afternoon while Mum and Dad were busy doing things like chopping wood and cleaning the upstairs rooms prior to visitors arriving tomorrow. He's beginning to act like he's getting over the colds and fever, so hopefully the teeth are bedding in too.

Take care Kitty - and don't over do things. Alanna too. You do seem to pick the most difficult means to achieve things somehow, don't you!

Right must be off to do all the rest of the stuff I've not done in my other Teams over the last couple of days. See you around - and have a good week-end everyone.

*ironic tone tongue in cheek intended to make you laugh* Oh Isobel, How dare you not being in here every single hours of your day, I mean, ask Bear to sew the others and then we can have you every minutes in here and the world is perfect as it should be. (end of the not serious amusing tone that was not intended to offend and only need to be specified because you don't hear me)

I agree with Mary, Alanna. I got a common cold at the moment and I use that anyway. It free the airway without making me cough or drugging me... very important when you are asthmatic. And plus, it is widely available and not expensive (unless you go to the natural store that keep saying theirs is best, but you know, if you have the best of the best but I can't afford it, I go for second best... that give result). If you got the budget, though, the real one takes less to be effective. Oh and by the way, lots of people swear by hot shower steam inhalation in those condition. That depend. I mean, for me, you want to make sure I die, get me in a steam sauna... with or without anything. My airway close even when healthy. But camphor worked each time.
Anyhow... working on some details again today. I finished 4 more paintings for my show. Should be time to show them online eventually.
See you around.

Camphors great its the main ingredient in my snot sticks and vapor rubs.

I can finally move my hands again of which I am very thankful.

Have some new products going up in a week or so and am working on getting those done and photographed and listed in draft section.

I am away all of next week demolishing a rather large house with tanks... unusual request but hey, it pays the bills.

I do hate leaving the store for 7 days though, I always feel a pang of guilt for customers and worry they may not have seen the notices around the store.

Darn. The post I did earlier has disappeared. Weird.

Thanks, everyone, for the ideas for brochitis remedies. I am starting to come down with a cold, so I'll keep them in mind. I wasn't able to do anything I wanted to do today. Today was mostly a rest 'n read day, and tomorrow will probably be the same.

If anyone is noticing a drop in views and sales this might be the reason, found it in my email and thought I would pass it on:

Re: Weekly Chat Cafe' 10/11/2015 - 10/18/2015

My word, what a lot of things happening in everyone's world all of a sudden.

Ruth, thanks for that link: good to see you here again. Proof, though, that folks may well read this Chat Thread, even if they don't always SAY anything! Although I'm in the UK, my views have improved a bit lately, but sales have not. I'm working on something I hope will improve them a bit - much will be explained in my blog tomorrow, so am not going into it now. However, there have certainly been some developments (good ones) on the Hedgehog front! Serendipity isn't in it!

Camphor has always been a reliable antidote for colds - have vivid memories as a child, and even as a young adult, of sitting with a towel over my head and leaning of a bowl of boiling water which had a few drops of camphor added for good measure. Blocked nasal passages a thing of the past - until you got back into the fresh air again. However, one's chest was usually a lot less tight - which is the whole object of the exercise.

I finished my antibiotic for the bronchitis on Thursday, and am now left with the left overs of the cough (which usually takes a week or two to go completely) and a slightly runny nose. Am doing the two readings a Mass tomorrow, so hope the voice will hold out until that is over. When you're live on your own, you don't realise what might happen when you begin talking aloud properly! Each time anyone telephones me, recently, I've ended up croaking like a frog!!

Eejee good to see you back again, look forward to reading you once more. No offence taken - you should all know me by now. Once I start, I rarely stop! It's been just as well recently, because lots of the old regulars have been missing of late.

Kitty - glad that the hands are beginning to return to normal. It is frightening when that happens. I've got to do more sewing, rather than typing here on the computer - clicking the mouse is hardly exercise for fingers that are intent on tightening up without proper use. Still, the Lord willing, hopefully, I shall have a REASON to sew more soon. (See reference to tomorrow's blog!). Do hope that your joints loosen up sufficiently for you to not damage yourself while bringing down the house. Sounds somewhat alarming exercise to me though!

Adoption papers are due to be posted, first class, registered (to provide a trail) to the Family Court on Monday (not allowed to go before, for reasons best known to the Social Worker). Then we wait for that all important date for the Day in Court, when hopefully the Adoption Certificate is issued. That could take weeks: more likely months. So fingers crossed it's the former. Clare and Alan have waited so long and Elliot is a darling. He's almost walking by himself today apparently, although crawling is still much quicker!

Good luck with the job hunt Patricia - looking for anything in particular? It's not easy these days finding what one wants - my elder daughter was out of work, while simultaneously trying to set up her own business and look for fulltime employment. She finally got what she was looking for in April and is still keeping looking for work for her business - which current employers (she's on a full time 15 months contract) understand, and allow her to take time off if one of her existing clients asks for her attention. It's allowing her to keep a roof over her head a lot easier than prior to April, though. Hope you are successful in your search. Keep us posted.
