Good morning team!

I was so busy yesterday with all my sorting that I never got the time to pop in again.

Glen, I'm glad you made it safely to Key West, it must be a great feeling knowing that you'll have 3-4 months of warm weather ahead. I hope that you'll reach 100 sales by the end of the year!

I don't think that Etsy relevancy takes note of the number of sales we've had, it's more to do with personal gratification, like Mary said. If anything, probably the more sales you've had, the more buyers may trust you as a seller, it's all psychological. There again, I wouldn't have have any problems in buying from somebody with zero or very few sales, I've done it, both here and on other venues, we all need to start from somewhere, right?

Congratulations Mary on your splendid achievements! Indeed, you are an inspiration to us all :)

Alanna, hope your Ravens won and I look forward to see the new totes!

Ah, crochet... Good on ya Cherry for learning how to. Both my Grandmas tried to teach me when I was a child, one of them was the Queen of Crochet, but did I learn? Did I heck. Despite my creative soul, I just can't get to grips with crocheting and knitting (my Mum is a good knitter).

I have one of those LED Christmas trees Isobel, they are brilliant. I haven't yet decided whether I'll bother with it this year or not (I certainly wasn't in the mood last year), I'll go with the flow I suppose. Good luck with finding a replacement today.

Betterwyth, unfortunately amongst humans there are some bad apples everywhere, in every profession and in every walk of life. I hope that things will settle down quickly.

Yes, search terms vary a lot, you never know what people will look for. I'm still pleased to see that Etsy automatic translations work well, as I keep getting non English search hits.

Looks like Sundays are proving to be great days for me, after a dry spell I got 5 orders yesterday, I believe that I just had the right items for the right buyers, views were lower than usual and I didn't even put Tweet Eye on. Go figure!

Alright, I guess I'm in a chatty mood today lol. Lets get down to RAK! Random Acts of Kindness! Show some love to some team mates by fave bombing their shop, make a treasury, a little purchase, some promotion on your social media, anything you can think of to put a smile on somebody's face.

Have a great day everybody!

Re: AAA Cafe' Daily Chat 12/08/2014

Hi everyone!

Oh it feels like it's holiday! I was in Stockholm over the weekend for my father's birthday and ate a lot of fantastic food. We had a table at one of the best restaurants I've been at. The service was fantastic and it was in a absolutely stunning environment. The restaurant were in five houses. We sat in the cellar of the oldest house that were from 1651. You could see fingerprints on the wall that were over 350 years old and in the 1740 there was a illegal pub in the room.
On Saturday we were at Skansen http://www.skansen.se/en/kategori/english looking at their christmas market and their animals. They mostly have nordic animals so it was Lynx, Elks, Wild Boars, Reindeers, Otter etc. And then they have the Skansen aquarium where they have animals that don't live here like Baboons and Cuban Crocs. If you ever seen any Cuban Crocodiles at any USA zoo you can be sure that they were from Skansen as it is the only place in the world for US zoo's to import them from as US can't import from Cuba because of communism and stuff like that.
On Sunday we were shopping and I had Ben and Jerry ice cream. They have stopped producing my favourite taste, Baked Alaska in those things you can buy at the grocery store so now you can only buy Baked Alaska ice cream at Ben and Jerry stores and we don't have any of those in Nyköping.

Had one sale during the weekend and shipped it earlier today.

Oh and I bought a super duper pink journal and a pink Ballograf pen in Stockholm. Ballograf are my favourite pen producer and they have released their most iconic and best pen in pink, got so happy when I saw it at NK!

Hope you all had as fantastic weekend as me! :)

Good morning everyone -

Sorry I have not been around. I worked all weekend on custom orders and packaging a mantel up as well. Also have to get the arrowhead dreamcatcher ready to ship as well. I will work on my RAK's in a bit when time allows as work is quite busy today.

Val & Caroline - congrats on the sales!

Vicky - Congratulations on the milestone!

Have a great day!

Re: AAA Cafe' Daily Chat 12/08/2014

Oh, Kevin, that sounds like a mess. The supply line is not the sewer line, so it wasn't as *messy* as it might have been?
Caroline: Sounds like a fun weekend. Interesting about the Crocs.

It appears that my *xmas* rush was last week when I had a few orders. It's dwindled back to.....ack. I give up. Feeling a bit of an ass for thinking it was improving. Teaser sales, enough to get me to expend a lot more time and energy.....and then feel like a chump.

Congrats on all the sales, and for those of us not having sales, congrats on whatever.

Re: AAA Cafe' Daily Chat 12/08/2014

Goodness me Kevin - hope you're somewhere you can dry your stuff out. There's nothing worse than water for getting into places you don't want it to reach!

RAK'S performed.

Found a Christmas tree on line - hope to have it delivered in 3-4 days. Maybe it will contribute to my feeling a bit more festive than I have been. The cold weather definitely dulls the senses, even if it's more seasonal. Walking around this morning was definitely treacherous. Think I'll break out one of Peter's walking sticks to give me some more traction (and balance). Skating has never been my "thing"!

Second cat well under way. May have him stitched before I go to bed - but must be off to do my overseas Christmas cards. Time ran away with me - as usual, when I'm online - and I didn't get them done yesterday.

Sorry I'm so late getting in today. Gave Brandon a hand, then went to Sears to buy hubby shoes and blue jeans. They had a 40% sale today, so we lucked out. Got him what he needed except for a couple of small things that were too expensive. We will get those at Walmart.

Doing a RAK or two now.

Thanks Val for the encouragement and I hope that I also encourage others on the team to never give up.

Oh geez, I have been sick for two weeks. Two weeks! I have GOT to kick this cold/flu.

Re: AAA Cafe' Daily Chat 12/08/2014

The line at the Post was three times as long as I have ever seen it. I walked in and took one look then backed out and went back to my car. That was a 45 minute line with only one attendant working at the counter. I'm hoping I will have better luck when I return this afternoon.

I stopped on my way home and bought all the tins and boxes needed for the Holiday baking. My girls and I have a tradition of baking Gingerbread Men and decorating them in bikinis. They are a hit with friends, family and teachers. Traditional Christmas Cookies never last long and I end up making them two or three times in December. It's amazing that I make 4x the recipe each time I bake them and it is never enough. By the end of the holidays I am so sick of them the smell makes me nauseated.

I received some cute pictures of my two Grand Daughters riding The Polar Express. They look so adorable in their knit Hello Kitty hats I sent them. Wisconsin is cold these days and that is the one thing I always disliked about living there. It's simply Arctic!

My Christmas tree is Purple this year and covered in Luchadors with King Kong hanging on the top swatting at airplanes. Traditional decorations just really aren't my style. lol

I hope every one has had a fantastic day and I will catch up with all of you later.

Re: AAA Cafe' Daily Chat 12/08/2014

Well thanks to Home Depot for having a tool rental open until 8pm on Sunday. I rented a carpet water extractor and four carpet blower fans.

Luckily yesterday my mom stopped by my home to walk my dog while we were gone up at my father-in-laws up in the mountains. She opened the door to a small pond. She got the fireman two houses down to come and shut off the water. He broomed out the majority of it before we got home. luckily our hallway and our dining area has ceramic floor tile. all three bedrooms and living room are carpeted and got pretty wet. I extracted about 10-15 gallons from the 4 rooms last night and pulled them up today and removed the wet pad.

My neighbor said the water was probably running full for 1-2 hours. I plan to run the fans another 24 hours and rent a dehumidifyer this evening. I am lucky since it could have been much worse. I was reluctant to contact the insurance since they would ultimately balme me for not replacing the water supply line in the past 10 years.

Ya know they would probably send me a letter that explained that my rates would be increasing to offset the cost they had spent for repairs. I will reserve calling my insurance compant for a big emergency (knock on wood) I hope I never need to do that.

I know a carpet guy so I will let him replace the pad and restrech. I am dreading my power bill. Oh well lesson learned. I am still young enough to do the hard labor. I would guess I will be set back about $600 for this mishap.

Hopefully I can get some stuff shipped tomorrow. I had used the promotions last week without hearting and did see some good results. I only promoted about 20 of my items and sure enough almost 40% of my sales were from promoted listings. I had set a budget tp $4 / day and averaged at $1.75 . Not a bad return on my investment. Long term plans are to not run promotions. I turned them off last night and only one sale today. That is fine I need to catch up so I am not in panic mode next week. I figure I will enter vacation mode around the 16th. I have a local project that is overdue as well.

Kevin, I doubt the water did much good to the ceramic tile. Won't it come up now? I hope not. Sorry to hear about the flood.

Re: AAA Cafe' Daily Chat 12/08/2014

Yes Mary I am lucky I had installed ceramic tile in the hallway and dining room no problem with that area, the carpets suck the water up like a sponge. I have peeled up the carpet after extracting as much water as I can and removed the underlayment pad. also ran fans to dry all baseboards so no mold will grow. I also rented a dehumidifyer to remove the water vapor in the air. Lots of work. my calves are soar from pushing and pulling the water extractor :( I think we will survive another day here. luckily it was sunny and 70 deg today.

Re: AAA Cafe' Daily Chat 12/08/2014

Been busy, had the show set up friday, and show sat. Did well, but still think at the price it should have been better..but Tulsa and Norman Universities had a game that afternoon. I am fairly happy with my set up. Need to just leave the higher end items at home. I always bring too much, and even though this was a higher end billed event, people were still cheap.

Came home tired and organized my messes and made a spot for the tree. Will do some RAK's and go to bed
