I had a bit of a difficult day yesterday. Trying to help someone and it caused a lot of drama. I just don 't have time for it and don't need family drama this close to Christmas. Someone isn't getting enough attention again. I don't have time for Drama Queens right now. Too much on my plate. LOL

What are your plans for today? I'm taking the younger grandson and we are getting hair cuts. Then I'm going to do some Christmas cleaning and see if I can decorate the house up a bit. Didn't get laundry done today, so need to do that too. Busy, busy.

Good morning all. Top quote again Mary, and definitively true, I can vouch for it :) Oh yes, Drama Queens, there seem to be lots of them about! Life is too short to having to worry about them sometimes.

I got a couple of sales yesterday, very happy of course, so I'll be doing a bit of packing this morning and then off to the post office. It's now becoming really tight and a bit of a gamble with shipping times if you want to get the order before Christmas to the USA/Canada/Australia (the biggest markets and the vast majority of my customers so far) from the UK, so it may be safe to say that my Christmas "rush" is almost over lol, but hopefully I'll still get some orders from the UK. I just wish that Etsy was better known here, I do my best to advertise it with friends, family, neighbours and anybody I speak to. If I don't benefit from it, somebody else might, so it's all good!

I'm doing a little crafts fair at a local primary school Christmas event tonight, nothing major, I've been invited to take a table from my neighbour whose grandson goes to that school. I won't be going with the crafts that I sell here on Etsy, it's more like children's items, so I'm bringing a few bits and bobs from my brick and mortar shop, including some beaded Hello Kitty and Betty Boop bracelets, pendants and keyrings that I also make and are always popular with children in my gift shop. That's what I've been asked to bring anyway, so I'll oblige :)

Good Morning everyone! I agree, the world could use a lot less drama queens!

I had a weird day yesterday. I had someone purchase a reserved listing that was a custom order for someone else. So I sent her a convo to let her know that I would be refunding her money and cancelling the order (and a lot of thank you's, etc). I seriously didn't think she'd be back, but....she was!!

She thanked me & put in a custom order of her own! That made my night ;o)

I also found out that I have close to 60 hrs of vacation time that I didn't realize I had so I'll be working mostly half days for the rest of December until my vacation starts on the 24th. Whoop!!!

Great quote today! off and going to my regular work today and then boxing up a custom order tonight to have ready to go tomorrow to the post office. Taking great care in this one to make sure it is perfect for the person that ordered it. Then, have to finish the other custom order to get it ready for shipping as well. Other than that, hoping sales will pick back up again soon.

Well, Cyber Monday was slow for me, but I did end up getting 2 sales, so my FB advertising was paid for with a bit over. :) It was a learning experience, so now I think I know what to do better next time. :)

Lots of work to do, also need to switch out tags and titles again, removing Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.. Never ending is it.

Mary, If you want to stop a Drama Queen, You have to put them in their place. One or two things will happen, they will never consult you again or they will see the light. I am very blunt with these kinds of people. I always throw it back at them and say,"What are YOU going to do to fix it". Tell them life is too short to for you to put up with their problems THEY create. If you tick them off, then your problem is solved. As for helping people like this, they do not want your help, they want to whine. As for the holidays, this brings out the worse in some people. You always seem to find the right quote for the day.

Val, Congratulations on the Sales! By the way, do take your lovely clocks, since the kids parents will be there as well. If you have some business cards put them on your table. Anytime you get an opportunity to get your products in front of a crowd, this is a marketing moment. If you cannot take all clocks, deactive the ones you want to take and if they sell YEAH, if not then reactivate them when you get home. Good Luck!

John, Congratulations on the Sales and here is hoping for 100 more.

Jacqui, Two sales are better than no sales. I have done all the tags and title changes and I never seen where they were helpful. I did nothing and got 2 sales yesterday as well. When using the Etsy Search Ads, it is hard at times to use the keywords they offer. I read all the info on the forum about Search Ads and most people seemed to be disappointed with their experience.

I got my frames made yesterday but now I have to hand sand them and get them painted. I have a custom order for a sentiment frame and I cannot figure what font I used and I believe it might be on my old computer. Wish me Luck getting my old computer to boot up again. Have a great day everyone!

They were FB ads, not Etsy ads. The fb ads, brought 1 custom order and a few more likes. I am happy with that, cause it was a test run with a small budget. I do run Etsy ads at $5 weekly and have had 5 sales to date from them, in a 6mo period, but the revenue was more than cost of the ads, so I call it a win so far.
You know me, I am always working on that winning formula for my shop. I change things up things up every couple of months that I see are not working.

So sorry it has been FOREVER since I was on here. I had 13 at my house for the Thanksgiving week holiday and that is a lot of hostessing. Which is not my strongest quality which makes me tired.

I have been getting orders left and right...CRAZY. I guess the rush as started which is good. I am paying for Christmas this year. :)

I am having trouble with another seller after a 3 week processing time the item is still not in the mail. The shipping label created and tracking into ready, but it has gone NO WHERE in a weeks time and they are not answering my convo's. This gives all of us a bad name and that is frustrating.

Bethany, Do You mean she has not sent the item you purchased from her or that she has not paid for an item she purchased from your. After 3 weeks, I would cancel the order for non payment if she purchased from you. If you paid and she has not shipped, you only have 45 days to get your money back through the credit card companies.

You will probably need to put in your policies that if no payment after 3 days without contact, the order will be canceled. You do not have the time for this in the middle or the busy season.

You are right, this behavior does give sellers a bad name, if they do not play by the rules. You have to keep in mind, not every seller on Etsy actually believes they are a business. Some make and sell crafts on Etsy. They either do not know or understand, that by opening a shop on Etsy, You are a business. It is hard to weed out these kind of sellers. I wish Etsy would quit refering to us as Sellers and call us Business Owners. Since they have made it possible for us to grow our businesses, they need to think of us as business owners.

Greetings everyone - away from base! Just dropping in before closing down for the day. Will be back home tomorrow and hopefully back in the routine again soon after.

Do have three orders to fulfill that have come in since going away - must do it more often methinks! Two are in stock, so I'll get them off by the week-end. The others need to be made, so guess what.......out with the needle and down to some hard graft, as doubtless they're all intended as Christmas presents

Cyber Monday came and went, I had 1 sale last night.
I opened a new shop with my mom here on Etsy, www.makeitmine.info. We make personalized embroidered items such as bibs, t-shirts, and onesies for the little ones, and totes, kitchen towels, and Egyptian cotton hand towels for the grown-ups. We have LOTS of designs and fonts to choose from. We also have personalized stuffed animals handmade by my mom, and personalized hardcover kids books made by me using real photos of your child. We've been open 1 month and had 4 sales so far, so we're encouraged! :)

I had some sales over the holiday weekend but cyber Monday was a dud, despite my coupon code for free shipping.

We finally ate the last of the turkey. I guess I have to start cooking again now. lol

Indigobjects : I've checked my shop stats, that clock had 2 views today, one from google.co.uk and the other one from etsy.com using search. There is a keyword search for "wood clock" on etsy, so to double check I clicked on it and it brought me to this particular clock, so I think that this sale has happened within Etsy from what I can work out, sorry :( . Pinterest has brought 3 views to it between October and November though.

Well done everybody on your sales, happy days! Bethany, so sorry about your bad experience with that seller, that is giving indeed all of us a bad name, just make sure you file in a claim within the 45 days period, so that you'll get your money back.

Dona: I thought about bringing some of my clocks, but the table wasn't very big and it was quite a small affair focused on children in a fairly small school, so I just used up the space available for kiddies stuff. I'm glad I did, as the parents were just hanging around and chatting in groups while the children run around wildly and excitedly spending their pocket money, so I did quite well lol. One day, when I'll get myself properly organised, I'll have a go at some proper Christmas craft fairs :)

Val, just curious as to effectiveness. The items I sold are pinned. We need that mobile traffic data. Come to Etsy on a click-thru, check comparables, buy the item that caught the eye. Logical order.

Not many sales over the weekend but a nice one on cyber Monday and a small one today. I've passed my goal for the year.
