Good morning team!

Later than usual today, low season in the brick and mortar, so I'm closing on Fridays again on top of Mondays. With the dark mornings, Blake doesn't feel the need to wake me up at 5am, he now ventures upstairs after 7, which is good. I've managed to finish 6 new desk clocks the last couple of days, I listed 3 yesterday and I'll list the other 3 today, it's best to spread them out a bit. And hopefully I'll create more today at some stage.

Thanks for explaining where to get that view source Dona. I still don't understand anything of what appears on that page! No, I could have never made it in IT LOL!

I took note of a topic suggestion before I went on holiday, I think it was from Sara: gifts sets. Sara wrote this at the time:

"Val I have another topic to suggest. I signed up for the Boot Camp thing... first time I have done it. But in the e-mail I just got it suggested making sure you cover a lot of price points over the holidays because many shoppers have a $$ amount in mind to spend. One way to do that would be to pair some of your items together to make a set or complete gift. Maybe we could talk about covering price points and how you can pair different items in your shop to make a "set or complete gift" I have no idea for my own items!"

Anything that will give us a chance of extra sales is worth covering, thank you Sara for the suggestion! This won't apply to some of us, as I think that a gift set can only be made with certain items: jewellery, handknitted/crocheted items, body products, Christmas ornaments are good examples. We do see lots of gifts sets for sale in the shops in the run up to Christmas, so it may be a good idea to offer them in our online shops too where possible. Do any of you do it, have done it, have any experience with this?

Thanks, everyone, for your support for me and my sister. Dona, they aren't panic attacks or asthma. She has medications for both, but nothing works except nitroglycerin, which sort of indicates the heart. Thanks for your prayers.

Isobel, sorry to hear about the wasted effort yesterday. I hate it when I do something like that, so I feel your frustration.

Teal, I agree with others' thoughts about the banner. The name of the shop should be a bit larger, so it stands out, and the banner is somewhat unfocused. Love the avatar. Did you know that green is the color of mental health awareness? Maybe you could put something about it in your description. Do you have links in your description to sites about ovarian cancer? If you do, and want something for mental health awareness, send them to www.nami.org.

Teal - I agree with everything that everyone else has mentioned. The colors look terrific. But maybe read through the suggestions already made and incorporate them into the banner.

Dona - Yes, I often think about doing signs but have not had time to run any. Hopefully after the custom orders are done, I can research more into them. Thanks for the helpful suggestion. It is appreciated.

OK, all fixed. I'm thinkin' it looks pretty slick now. I wish they gave a little bit more room for the banner. A lot of stuff got cut off when I loaded it to my shop. But, at least now I finally have a banner and a matching avatar. I hope this is a good start to VASTLY increased sales!!! :)

Thank you so much for that Dona, very very helpful! I'll need to look at it in depth. One thing, which I find hard to believe myself: can you guess what the second most popular all time search keyword is in my Stats, right under Wall Clocks? Yep, Unique Wall Clocks, so I'm a bit reluctant to remove unique from some titles and from under the banner... Very interesting about the section though, I'll see how I can reword them, I've already changed and added some according to how many items I've got per "style". So, again, a big thank you!

You are right Rachel, the distance wouldn't make it feasible... :(

Alanna, I have a list on my shop About/Story section of illnesses, diseases, conditions, and syndromes that all use the teal green awareness ribbon color. The color for mental health is closer to a lime green, so it wouldn't fit with the teal ribbon motif. I have also included web URLs for the main illnesses and diseases. There are about 15 or more that are less well known and so I haven't included web URLs for those. Hoping that if anyone does see the name of the illness they are interested in that they will look up the web URL on their own.

Just back from a great holiday to Sicily, to see some friends, fantastic hot weather about 31°C /90°F , great food but more that everything 5 days away from work/internet/brick and mortar shop .. I really had a good relaxing time.

Great topic for today. I always wonder if any of my items can be paired for gift sets, but not sure. I do however, have varying price points in my shop. I have been noticing lately a lot of people purchasing multiples of the same items which makes me think they might be buying holiday gifts.

Dona, I definitely would offer gift sets of your frames. I personally, never buy one frame and it doesn't hurt to try offering them.

Hi Everyone,

What a day! My seven year old woke up with half her face covered in poison ivy rash. Wasn't sure at first as she's been suffering extreme eczema due to dairy allergy. Poor bugger, she was just starting to get her skin back to normal after being dairy free for a month. Doctor confirmed it was poison ivy or other similar contact dermatitis.

Interesting topic today, I've been giving this some thought myself lately. Building a mental picture of shops that would work well together. Isobell's animals would pair well with a framed card stating name of animal and personality traits. A little story to breath life into him / her. My daughter loves her stuffed animals to have personalities, sometimes Santa leaves a note if a toy is particularly mischievous!

Alanna, hope you and your sister feel better soon. Will keep you both in my thoughts.

Names of Sections question:

People are not going to search on the term "earring." They are going to search for earrings.

However, what would be better to use for Relevancy - Bracelets or Bracelet, Necklaces or Necklace? Will people search for bracelets or bracelet, etc.?
