Good morning team mates and Happy New Year!! May it be a healthy, peaceful and prosperous one for everybody :)) Here in North West England is new year - old life, it's chucking it down for a change lol. Love that quote Mary!! Sometimes fate comes along and spoils it all, but it's true that most of it depends on us :)
I caught up with yesterday's chat so the first thing is: congratulation to L.E. Carruba for the new addition to the family, what a cracking way to end the year! Fantastic news! Then thank you so much Allison for the feature, you rock! What a great team this is! :)) I will go and spread some hearts around shortly :)
I never make New Year resolutions, they just don't work for me lol. My main wish is that everybody I love will have a year of good health and peace. I definitively hope that 2014 will turn up to be a better year in this respect, I've got to say that I was glad to see the back of 2013, not my best year as you can imagine, but I won't dwell on that :)
Business wise, I want to keep growing here on Etsy and of course I hope that my brick and mortar shop will have a good season. I really need to start concentrating on that now, it's easy to put it aside during the Winter months when I'm closed (especially this year that I had my new Etsy shop to keep me busy), but as that is my "real" income, I can't neglect it! I'll need to consider new items to put on the shelves from some suppliers, and since I'm obsessed with handmade things (well, I would't be here on Etsy otherwise!), I've started creating some new items with the big bag of Herdwick sheep wool fleece that I have (this is mainly grey, I've got a white/cream fleece on the way to me for a bit of variation). I've been felting like mad the last few days (felted hanging hearts, felted pebbles, felted coasters for now), hopefully customers will like them too!
Not sure if I said it before, but these Herdwick sheep are native of this area and have a bit of a "cult following", helped by the fact that the children books author Beatrix Potter (the creator of Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddleduck and friends) used to live here and was a breeder of these sheep, there are actually many visitors that specifically ask for Herdwick related items, so I'll try my best to be original! Enough about sheep now, or I'll get everybody bleating in a minute (or bored by my rantings!)... :)
Have a great day everybody!
