Good morning team!

Another grey day here, but I'm not complaining, I had a smashing day in my brick and mortar shop yesterday, with dull weather visitors are more tempted to go around shops instead of lounging by the lake :D

Ok, so we had a bit of a "tense" chat yesterday, gosh, these tests really are causing some upheaval and so many different feelings! Hopefully it'll all be worth it at the end :))

Lest have some fun today then. This will be irrelevant on the grand scheme of things, but if there is one thing that you would like Etsy to implement as an improvement in the running of your shop, what is this thing?

The main thing that I can think of at the moment (I'm sure more will come up): I'd love it if we could have the possibility to set up an auto-reply to convos without having to put our shop on vacation mode.

Hey all. I'm having problems sleeping. I'm sure its because I'm anxious about the doctor visit today. I have stage 0 adeno carcinoma (cervical) and have already had 2 surgeries where they took part of my cervix out. They found some more abnormalities a couple weeks ago and took 3 biopsies. Today I go in for results. I'm basically at the point that if there are still abnormalities, I will be setting up an appointment for a historectomy. And I'm only 30 years old!

Hey guys long time no speak. First Leaders you are all doing a bang up job of keepin the train rollin while the conductor is hand tied by lack of time. For this you deserve admiration to all who find this team model helpful.
As far as tests to each their own my sales are steady even though my shop is in these tests. I dont think it much effects things in my opinion because most customers browse by placing keywords in the search so if your SEO is ok you should do fine.
Jess sorry to hear of your medical issues. All I can say is you can only keep on living while you have the chance so just because things are tough find things you love and give them your all and thumb your nose at giving in to your disease as long as you are able.
On the personal front I am working 40 hours a week and trying to keep my stores momentum (2 shy of 350 sales) going. Today is my birthday which I will celebrate with an auction. My home is overflowing with inventory I must get time to list as is...I may have a auction addiction..lol

Jess I'll be thinking of you today. Cancer is a horrible illness but it IS beatable and the biggest part of beating it is believing you can, so try and stay positive and remember the people on this team may not have met you but we are all behind you.

Jess, you will be in our thoughts, prayers and meditations. I have been in your situation and know how taxing this can be, even though we all meet this in our own way. For me, getting through the cancer was a life-changing incident that set me on the path of becoming a Buddhist nun and teacher, so in a sense, I am grateful for having to approach life and death. I hope all goes well and send you energy and strength from a tiny island in the Baltic Sea. Pøj-pøj.

Within the next 10 days, I have to make some pretty serious decisions about how to plan the next stage of "doing stuff". Today, I will be trying my luck at cookie-baking in order to try and set up a new brand of organic cookies at an organic bakery. And I have invested in lampwork equipment in order to set up a bead-making studio to supplement the sale of malas. We are also trying to design a kind of meditation program that is secular and going beyond mindfulness, as mindfulness programs are designed to stop before insight, so to speak. Just as many others before me, I have this mixture of unrest (how am I going to be able to pay bills from Day 1) and excitement (this is going to be fun and successful). I am good at doing what I do, but entrepreneurship is not something natural for me.

Jess - Thoughts and prayers sent your way. I also have fought cancer (hodgkin's lymphoma) and beat it. It is a rough road to go down but there are many advancements to treatment now. I also hope all goes well when you find out the results today. Stay positive and like Lucy said, we are all behind you.

Has anyone heard how Dona's surgery went yesterday?

Jess, thoughts and prayers are going out to you! I had the same thing years ago, but from what I understand, if the cancer is stage 0, it is on the surface only and the surgery should have taken care of everything. My daughter and I both had this, including the surgery (conization).

It's another busy day for me today and it's supposed to be another hot day. Well I'll be inside for training and a mandatory meeting, then later I'm golfing so I hope it's not too hot.

Jess - Stay positive and think that you can beat cancer because it's possible. It is amazing what just our minds can do and the healthcare today is really good.

I just want the Etsy seller Android app for the summer! From tomorrow and 5 weeks forward my main internet will be my limited mobile 3g internet so it would really make my days easier!
I would also love it if I we were able to see the + vat price when we are shopping before checkout, I mean in the listing price. If we are logged in, Etsy knows where we live so I don't see any problems there.

I will be making a cake and cookies today because tomorrow is me and my mom's birthday, yes we do share it :D I also need to photograph a few new things for the shop.

I decided to work through my box of ruffle scarf yarn. Doesn't take me that long to make a ruffle scarf, so I'm getting about 4-5 done a night.

Talked to my son last night - he is having fun at his dad's. He had his first summer dance class and said it was fun and the teacher was nice.

I like Val's suggestion of the auto-reply for convos. I also would love a searching for list like ebays. I put my maiden name in there (not a common name), so I get a notification every time something comes in with my name.

Two days ago, I sent out my feedback to etsy, and I can say I was polite but not very constructive. Yesterday while up at Penn for a follow up for my husband, I wrote very constructive feedback on every issue and it gave me a sense of relief. Don't know if that makes any sense! That was all I had time for between various appts. My husbands new lung looks great but they did find some unidentified bacteria, so we are back up there Tuesday for another broncoscopy.

Jess I will keep you in my prayers. Medical issues are always so frightening. My mother in law had to have a hysterectomy in her early 40s for the same reason. It is a bumpy road but there is a light at the end. I hope you get positive results from the dr. today!

One thing I wish Etsy would add is a way to search team members shops for a specific item like necklaces or candles. I try and support my teammates whenever possible but if they aren't active in chat or the threads you don't know what they sell. It would also be helpful for making treasuries.

Hi all my lovely teamies. Surgery went well and to my surgeon's surprise the hernia was not as bad on the inside, as it looked out the outside. I got to come home yesterday. I got all kinds of numbing medications, along with an icepak. The pain is manageable and I am thankful to God and my team of doctors for this. Right now it feels like someone punched me in the stomach real hard. I am still tired and it hurts to cough. This too shall pass. Thanks everyone for sending your positive Thoughts and Blessings, it means the world to me.

Jess, I am sorry for your diagnosis but at least they caught it at stage 0. 30 is such a young age to be going through this. Please know my prayers are with you for a excellent diagnosis this go around.

John, I am doing fine and everything was much easier than I thought it would be. Thank You your kind thoughts.

My knee is feeling better, my mood is much better, and I'm happily embroidering away on various Christmas designs. I hope to get some more designs done, my pictures taken, and items listed by next Tuesday. Yee-hah.

Missed yesterdays chat, will go look later. This is actually the ONE time I'm not in ANY test at all. I got a convo from admin thanking me for my response to their survey about testing. I'm sure the convo was a canned speech so didnt respond as it didn't seem to say anything after about 5 paragraphs...shrug.

I'm down in the back and hip joints I guess due to packing boxes. I hope I make it through the move.

I had a custom order through twitter for a lady's father who had been a WW2 pilot and in a concentration camp during the war. It's nice knowing who you are making things for. She had me mail it as a surprise with a note for him.

Sold some yarn today, one less thing to move.

My ETSY sales are 3x's last year. Thats not counting shows or orders from friends. So I am guessing teams and SEO is working? or my new pictures and product lines?

looking forward to the cool months. Just paid big money for a winter show. BUT it was paid out of sales and not my pocket.

Oh and on another order, I got burned shipping to the UK. Last time I sent a head band it was 7 bucks, this time to a different area it was $9.50. I can't see me putting $10 shipping on such a light item.

I think i would want Etsy to advertise more, like Donna said. It wuld increase views/sales in every shop if they did.

I am not sure how busy it will be today at my day job, but atm it is a tad slow. I listed these 2 items:

I am in a fairly good mood today. I will be moving to NC in about 2-3 weeks! I am so excited! I was listening to one of my co workers talking about how they are looking into opening a shop that focuses on health items in the middle of a heavy bicyclists area. This reminded me of my dream to one day have a physical shop of my own. I have played around with several ideas since highschool, originally wanting to own a tattoo studio (lol!). Due to my wrist injury, doing tattoos went out the window. I would love to have my own esoteric store, or a plant nursery, or even just an art gallery. If I could combine it all, that would be one amazing place ( and possibly kind of weird!). Oh well, maybe one day. I don't exactly have the funds to open a physical shop any time soon.

Jess, take care of yourself. I had the same problem back in 1994 (well a tiny bit different) and after undergoing painful testing, I told my GYN if she wouldn't do the hysterectomy, I'd find someone who would. I can understand your hesitation, you are 10 years younger than I was then. I have added you to my prayer list.

That said, I wish you well. The best thing you can do is to keep a positive attitude. I helps a lot.
