★ Sign in notifications

You should enable sign in notifications if you are concerned about unwanted activity on your account.

If Etsy detects anyone signing in to your account from a new browser or device, you will get an email notification. And if you are signing in via a new browser or device, you’ll be given the option to add it as a trusted device.'

What do you think? Does this make good sense for you to enable this free service?

★ Sign in history

This feature shows when and where you sign in to your Etsy account, beginning from when you enable this option.

When you first turn it on, it will say "There are no recent sign-ins." Eventually, you will see up to 10 of your most recent sign-ins.

Use this to see if someone from another location accessed your account. Your location in Sign In History is based on your IP address and may not match your exact city.

You can sign out of any open sessions. For example, if you signed in to Etsy on a public computer and forgot to sign out, you can sign that session out in your sign in history.

★ Two-factor authentication

You can turn on two-factor authentication under Security Settings. This feature adds an extra measure of security in addition to your password.

After turning two-factor authentication on, you'll enter a phone number where you can receive phone calls or text messages. You can use the same phone number on multiple accounts.

When you sign in using a different browser, or every time 30 days have passed, a code will automatically be sent to your phone via text message or voice call. You’ll need to enter that code in addition to your password when signing in.

The number you’ll be contacted from is an automated service and is not an Etsy Support contact number. If you need assistance with Etsy, please click the contact link at the bottom of this page to get in touch with Etsy Support.
Standard rates will apply, depending on your service provider.

When you enable two-factor authentication, you'll be given backup codes you can use in case you don't have your phone when you sign in. Save these codes in a safe place. You can only use each code once.

If you lose your codes or use them up, go to your Security Settings, click Edit next to Two-Factor Authentication and click Generate new codes. This will void your old codes.

If you need help accessing your account, get in touch with Etsy Support by clicking the contact link at the bottom of this page.

When you actually have a "SECURITY ISSUE" is not the best time to consider your security settings! Now is the Time! Make sure you are secure with these free options.

Again, ask "Does this make good sense for you to enable this free service?"

Yes, on these 3 security settings it is totally up to "you" to enable or not enable and be accountable to yourself for any issues too.
