    How Do I Join an Etsy Seller Event?

    Clicking on the Etsy logo no longer takes you to the Etsy home page
             

    I used to be able to reach the home page of Etsy by clicking on "Etsy" at the top of the forums. It now takes you to an Etsy Community page which appears to be a fancier version of the forums page. I don't know if this was intentional or an oversight but it was convenient.

    Most importantly, the Welcome to the Community Hub post: https://community.etsy.com/forum/announcements-290/topic/welcome-to-the-new-community-hub-95664/?postUUID=78568362-92e2-49df-b9fc-7c0dc79bbefb the "homepage" link does not work . It appears to be a typo in the URL [community.etsy s then dot com] that leads to a fake site. In Chrome, I received a warning from UBlock about it being a dangerous link, clicked to see a CAPTCHA, then an ad for online casinos . Copying the link to Firefox gave me another warning, then an invalid link page. Brave browser gave me the warning then the CAPTCHA again. I cannot upload a banner to my profile. It either shows as blank, or as one of the previous banners I tried. I am not receiving some notifications, including notifications for people who posted in threads I started . Yes, I have updated my notification alerts on my profile. Threads with a recent reply do not show up on the forum page; there appears to be a relevancy ranking that means threads from 2 days ago that I might want to see are buried, even if someone is replying to them in the past hour. In a community with people from around the world who are not posting every single hour, this means topics about specific countries or about de minimis will never rank; the AI only surfaces threads the majority are posting in. We need a way to filter by most recent posts . ✅EDIT - this seems to be working better now, with recent posts getting a brief boost. It is unnerving to have the page update while you are reading, but I can probably get used to that. I'd still like a most recent post filter,, though. Forum search does not work . The Welcome post says it is AI driven, which must explain why it is so bad. I searched "de minimis" to find my thread on the topic (which was active daily before the forums shut, and has "de minimis" in the title), and received over 200 results, almost all of which were from Teams. Since Etsy has not provided translation in the new forum, I couldn't even read most of the posts. My thread did not show up at all. We need to be able to filter to Forums only. We also need a way to subscribe to threads so we will see updates to threads that we didn't start but know are important, even when no one is replying to us directly. EDIT: they have broken old links to forum posts . I was about to send some helpful posts to someone, and the links I saved last week give an error message. 😠 Why tell us to use the forum to get help when you then hide all of the help?

    CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND WHY GETTING AHOLD OF ETSY SUPPORT IS SO DIFFICULT?
                                     

    While I am sure it is just me - I just don't understand why you cannot get someone on the phone anymore.  After the support rabbit hold of links, redirects, and similar tax ID issues, online (when it allows me to log in) it states come back and check in an hour.  My tax data was updated on 02/22/2023, and yesterday it asked again to update the info.  I would attach if I could, but it states my ID and data is validated, but shut my site down. Now I am being asked for two factor authentication using the app, which was never set up, so I cannot access the security settings to capture the QR code to get the login data, which is now an endless loop of needing the QR code, but not being able to get said QR code, to set up the app, as you have to be logged in to obtain said QR code.  Does anyone have a phone number or way to simply just ask what the issue is?  I am on day 2 and have a half doze of unanswered emails.  I am past frustrated and just launched a few new products so the timing couldn't be worse.   ~EE

    Hello all, As we manage our businesses online, we are bound to interact with scammers of some sort. They are getting better day by day and I would like to share an experience that I encountered today in the hopes of increasing awareness on this. I will copy our conversation below in blue : [removed] - due to private conversation Summary of Scammer Modus Operandi - a custom print on POTTERY was requested , and an infected file/zip provided as a design to be evaluated. When I refused to open it, they insisted on persistently. Before flagging spam, I check the user for any favorites , follows or proof , and it is all blank. For a seller which usually does custom print work, it would be a no brainer to check the requested file and you could be downloading a keylogger, a session cookie extractor or some other form of malware onto your phone or PC.  This was one of the smoothest attempts that I have received in a long time and I was wondering if any of you have had similar experiences? Or alternatively, do you think I wrongly flagged this buyer?

    Unethical Practices: Copied Digital Downloads and AI-Generated Listings on Etsy
                                                     

    Hello fellow Etsy sellers, I hope this post finds you all in good spirits. I'm here today to discuss a frustrating situation I've encountered and to seek advice from those who might have been through something similar. It's disheartening to see our creative efforts being exploited, and I believe that sharing our experiences can provide much-needed support. My Frustrating Experience: Recently, I discovered that someone has started selling copied versions of my digital downloads on Etsy. What's even more frustrating is that they are using AI-generated images and using my exact product titles. To add insult to injury, they've priced their products significantly lower than mine, impacting my sales and hard-earned reputation (I've been a Star-Seller every month since I started my shop), Ads budget and thousands of hours of work. Looking for Advice: If any of you have faced a similar scenario, your insights and advice would be incredibly valuable. I've taken steps to address the issue already, such as reaching out to the seller and reporting the incident to Etsy. However, I'd like to know how you navigated this challenge. How did you cope emotionally? What actions did you take to protect your products and reputation? While I'm dealing with this situation, I'm open to hearing your thoughts on: Managing Emotions: How did you handle the frustration and disappointment that come with someone copying your work?     Having problems uploading photos.

    Etsy charging VAT on my listings
                                             

    Last week I started to create listings with Printify, print on demand, I paint the patterns and they print, and I realized that Etsy is charging VAT on my listings, I set up the price for some leggings at 33 EUR, when I open the listing, it is 39,60 EUR. I don't understand why. Somebody in USA could please check how you see my price? It is probably a bug, I don't know, I only know that this will surely put away customers.     Denied access to team member management
             

    I tried to access the member approval page from both of my accounts (this and GoToSupplies) that are team captains but access was denied so I can't manage their request. I clicked the link in the email notification of a pending member; t he error said: "You do not have sufficient privileges for this resource or its parent to perform this action. Click your browser's Back button to continue. Return to my original page" Since I was clicking the link in the email I received I didn't expect not to have access, and as I don't see another way to access team member management I cannot do anything when I'm on the regular team pages either.

    In RE: “Your shop is frozen due to unverified taxpayer details”
                                                     

    I have supplied Etsy with all of my personal, business, and tax documentation for verification purposes including my EIN, Articles of Organization, Sales & Use Tax Certificate, Valid State Driver's License, and Social Security Number. Despite my account being suspended erroneously before I could open and with no way to sell, Etsy has charged me listing fees for each product. I’ve verified all of my business information with the IRS and my state’s revenue service, so this issue is clearly with Etsy. All of my confidential information is locked in their system, and now I am at full risk in the event of a data breach. I have notified them countless times respectfully requesting that they please respond, take action, and verify my account, but to no avail. According to the Online Marketplaces’ Obligations under the United States Federal Trade Commission's INFORM Consumers Act,  online market places have ten (10) days to verify our documentation, yet there are some sellers on here who have waited over 10 months! I have read complaints on this board from countless sellers expressing their confusion, frustration, and disappointment with Etsy regarding this very issue, so I know I’m not alone here. This is a severe safety concern and is completely unacceptable for a company of this scale. At this point, I have no other choice but to report them to the FTC and my state. If you are experiencing this same issue, I’d advise that you do the same.
