Shop Improvement Task #2
In order to get the most sales possible, our shops need to be the best possible. They should make such a good first impression that we get sales without having to play games or beg people to buy our items - almost as if our shops sell themselves. In order to do that we need to focus on improving our shops. This can often be a boring and ongoing task (especially when shop rules change) so I decided to turn shop improvements into a game. I'm going to post a shop improvement task (aka SIT) and if at least 3 members complete it I will post another one.
REPLY FORMAT:
When you have completed a task, please post a reply with the follow 3 pieces of info:
The word "COMPLETED" or "NOT COMPLETED BECAUSE _____" (sometimes there will be valid reasons why you can not complete a SIT and that's OK)
URL: [post the URL related to the shop improvement task here] or N/A (sometimes posting a URL might not be relevant to the SIT)
⭐⭐⭐ (copy the 3 gold stars and paste them in your reply, you deserve gold stars for your hard work)
Then after the gold stars you can add anything else you want to your reply. Easy enough? Now let's get started with the first SIT:
SHOP IMPROVEMENT TASK (SIT) #2:
Even easier than the last task: Tell us who your target customer is and why you like selling to them. This will not only help others learn about your shop, but it will also help everyone that participates define their customer base and germinate ideas that can grow into potential new products or new ways to market to our customer bases. Happy improving. Our businesses are all so diverse, I can't wait to see your shop URLs and what everyone says!

The games are fun, and make lasting friendships. And your 16 years on Etsy and your number of sales do not prove your idea thoughts on improving our business.
We grew our shops, promoted each other, and sales came to us. We made new customers, who brought in newer customers.

OP8 months ago · EditedAgreed. I love the friendships I've made from the games. The social aspect is undeniably invaluable. I turned my Etsy friendships into an offline retail store and that was beyond my wildest dreams. Right now, I'm returning to Etsy after an 8 year break and I'd just rather focus on making friends in a new way that better aligns with the new rules. If there are games that do this, count me in!

⭐⭐⭐
My target customers are environmentally conscious nerdy teens and young adults. I started selling to this group because I was very familiar with it. I love selling to younger customers and seeing them spent their limited money with pride. When selling to teens I usually include extras in their purchases. Their joy makes my day. My low price point starting at $1.50 is perfect for them. Over the years I have become very aware that teens have limited incomes, and the fees that Etsy charges on very low priced items are not as profitable, (also teens don't usually have credit cards and shop online) so I've begun to market to older customers, young adults as they grow and parents of teens as they have more income. This opens up new options for products targeted towards parents or parents gifting items to their kids.
