In order to get the most sales possible, our shops need to be the best possible. They should make such a good first impression that we get sales without having to play games or begging people to buy our items - almost as if our shops sell themselves. In order to do that we need to focus on improving our shops. This can often be a boring and ongoing task (especially when shop rules change) so I decided to turn shop improvements into a game. I'm going to post a shop improvement task (aka SIT) and if at least 3 members complete it I will post another one. REPLY FORMAT: When you have completed a task, please post a reply with the follow 3 pieces of info: The word "COMPLETED" or "NOT COMPLETED BECAUSE _____" (sometimes there will be valid reasons why you can not complete a SIT and that's OK) URL: [post the URL related to the shop improvement task here] or N/A (sometimes posting a URL might not be relevant to the SIT) ⭐⭐⭐ (copy the 3 gold stars and paste them in your reply, you deserve gold stars for your hard work) Then after the gold stars you can add anything else you want to your reply. Easy enough? Now let's get started with the first SIT: SHOP IMPROVEMENT TASK (SIT) #3: Background Info: These are the stats that Etsy says matter, the most important being your conversion rate: Five Shop Stats You Should Be Tracking https://www.etsy.com/seller-handbook/article/22398388701?ref=handbook In section 1 it says: "Your views to sales ratio, also called your conversion rate, is best measured over longer periods of time. Look at your views to sale ratio for January through June, for example, and measure it against the same six month period last year. Imagine you had 1,000 views and two sales last year but only 800 views and two sales this year. At first glance, you might think you’re not doing as well because your views decreased. In fact, those numbers mean that more of your items are selling per view. Shift your focus from getting more views to turning more views into sales. How? …" "Most successful Etsy shops maintain conversion rates between 1-5%, with the average hovering around 2-3%. If you’re falling below 2%, your listings likely need some attention." Quoted from an article on Marmalead (they're an approved third party partner) https://blog.marmalead.com/etsy-listing-quality-score/ that has lots of other great info. How do I found my conversion rate? Shop Manager -> Stats -> Shop traffic -> Change the default date range to "This year" -> Below that is your conversion rate for 2025 Task: This week's task is to view you conversion rate for all of 2025 and then post one task you want to work on (or stop working on) in 2026 to improve this number. Every shop is different and I'm guessing this list of goals will be just as equally unique and possibly inspire others. Happy goal setting! Oh, and you can go back and complete (or redo) any older SITs whenever you want.
