Welcome to the Neurodivergent Makers Network

Hello and welcome to the Neurodivergent Makers Network (or ND Makers Network for short!). I'm Rachel, a neurodivergent knitwear designer. My Etsy shop is The Dorothy Days. Discovering I was neurodivergent (I am Autistic + ADHD (AuDHD) was a real turning point for me. Suddenly, so much made sense - the way I think, the way I work, the way I create. Why I can come up with ten exciting ideas in one evening but struggle to send a single email the next day. This network is for makers of all kinds; artists, ceramicists, writers, bakers, illustrators, designers, printmakers and more. Wherever you are across the neurodivergent spectrum' Autistic, ADHD, Dyslexic, Tourettes....you are welcome here. Whether you are formally diagnosed, self identifying or exploring this space is for you. This will be a supportive community for Neurodivergent Makers and a place to celebrate our creativity. Please do introduce yourself below and welcome to the community

Resource List: Tools which help you

Hello everyone, I wanted to open up a discussion about the tools and resources that you find helpful as a Neurodivergent maker. Whether it's a pair of brilliant headphones, a supportive chair, a time-management app, or any other gadget, please share what you find useful so we can compile a resource list. Rachel

      Newly diagnosed ND

Hi there. I'm Sharon, recently diagnosed as ND..awaiting absolute confirmation . I live in Perth Western Australia. I create and sell digital products and am so happy I found this team. I loved the idea of finding some brilliant headphones and I took have a million ideas then seem to get my feet stuck in mud like I'm paralyzed and fail to deliver. I'm hoping I can learn from here and share some useful tips.

Co-working - Timing/ Would this be something you would like to do?

Hi everyone, I am hoping to run a series of co-working sessions online where we can work alongside each other virtually. I find it really helpful and helps me focus and be really productive and I know lots of neurodivergent people find it to be something really useful too. I would love to know 1) If this would be something you would be interested in 2) What times would work for you (Morning/Afternoon/Evening) 3) Where in the world you are (so I can work out timezones and timings) Thanks everyone Rachel

      Hooray! Techy issue fixed!

Hi everyone, We had a technical issue on the platform which meant none of our discussion threads were showing. The new platform is a big launch so, with that, does come some technical issues and Etsy have been really quick to resolve this for us. This is now fixed (hooray!) so you will be able to see all the threads and participate in discussions and we can get the community up and running which I am so excited about. Thank you everyone who has joined the community - it is brilliant to have you all here. Please do take a look at the different discussion topics. I have put an introduction one up and it would be great to hear more about you all and what you make/create. There is also a co-working session tomorrow (30th October) which I am hoping to run as a regular event for our community. Tomorrow will be the very first one and it would be great to see as many of you there as possible. It is a way to get some focused work done. I personally find co-working really beneficial. Rachel
