Self-promoting your shop - What do you do? 11/11/2025

Growing a business is hard. Being part of a team that helps you and your shop also takes time. Without involvement things fail. IF your sales are off, if your views are low, how do you resolve that? Do you know what your shops stats show and what items are being viewed and where the traffic is coming from? How much time each day do you devote to your shop? Do you follow other Etsy shops? Do you use search engines to look for your shop and listings? How do you self-promote your shop? When I started my Etsy account it was because I was forced into retirement and need additional income and all I did was list and sell and list and sell Or hope to sell. But over the past 10 years both Etsy and buying online has change. So, to be successful one has to learn the tools that help us grow. What is your experience and what hints, tips and tricks can you share with others? Have a great selling season.

Share - What do you do that makes your shop different? 11/5/2025

For me, TheCollectaholic, I do a few things that I think make me as a seller stand out. 1 I include a greeting card, thank you, with a handwritten note. Nothing special in the note, unless it is my parent's items and then I share a little story about that item. I buy them at the local thrifts for about 25 cents each. 2 I write in cursive. It may confuse the younger group that cannot read it, so in a way it is funny. 3 I write out the state on the package. Instead of using the abbreviation, ie NJ its New Jersey. Share what you do?

WE'LL BE BACK! WE'VE BEEN APPROVED FOR A NEW TEAM

There's a lot to digest, but wanted you to know that we will be back with perhaps a slightly different name. Sadly, I can't tell you anything more at this time.  And, I have lots of questions myself. Just wanted you to know. Please sign up, AND get involved in our FaceBook group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/436189357532769 It will be our source for hearting back to Etsy... and, of course, announcements.  Thanks for being part of our Team.  So many have gone above and beyond with working the threads, and I certainly appreciate you. All best, and my best, Pat

Looking for the most recent posts. 10/31/2025

WHOA, look at all this stuff. Well, when looking at the posts in either the Team page or the Boards, always look at the date/days, i.e. 1 day 2 year, next to the posters name. That way you will insure yourself that you are looking at the most current posts. In the boards sections there are also topic sections for just about anything and they are a little easier to find now that they are all posted on the left side of the screen. In teams, now calls Subscriptions, at the mid top area, under the team's name, you will see a box, and it says TAGS with a down arrow, if you click there you will see a like list of topics. IF there are discussions with TAGS, these are like the tags we add to our listing, when you click on that it will take you to that area and if a post is there, you will see it. In the old format you could put tags, on tour posts, but most of us did not. This is all NEW and I am clicking and opening things just to see where they go. If you have any hints or tips and tricks, let us know.

      Meaningful Impact FB Team

https://www.facebook.com/groups/436189357532769 This page is now beginning to move along nicely. We have 16 members. A few tips: The goal is to follow the link back to the poster's Etsy Shop.  Heart it from there. Then (or later) Like it on FB, and leave a comment. It all helps.

OCTOBER SURPRISE - Shoppers Can Now Buy Etsy Items on ChatGPT

Well, did you ever?    OpenAI added a feature that lets shoppers buy directly from Etsy sellers directly in chat  "This marks the next step in agentic commerce, where ChatGPT doesn't just help you find what to buy, it also helps you buy it,"  according to the Etsy announcement. "For shoppers, it's seamless: go from chat to checkout in just a few taps. For sellers, it's a new way to reach hundreds of millions of people while keeping full control of their payments, systems, and customer relationships."   An Etsy spokesperson explained how it works: "When ChatGPT users enter a shopping-related query (like: "Help me find a ceramic plate set"), ChatGPT may recommend results from Etsy. From those results, they can click into the listing to learn more and, for some items, complete their purchase without leaving ChatGPT."   "Merchants pay a small fee on completed purchases." And just what would that be you ask?  No idea.    Read more here:  https://www.ecommercebytes.com/C/abblog/blog.pl?/pl/2025/9/1759180423.html
